Works great and great audio quality
This is a must have for music lovers with no Aux port in the factory system. Installed on 2004 Silverado 2500HD LS. First and most important, you MUST understand that this unit fits many different GM vehicles and read the description. The directions may not have your exact wire layout for you stereo harness. Mine for instance did not have a remote power to the radio so I had to improvise and run a wire from the fuse box. I also went ahead and ran a ground from a bolt on the fuse box so I could keep my wires together. The only thing I can say I do not like is that because I did not have that remote power wire the unit shuts off as soon as I turn the key off, but that is my trucks fault NOT the unit. This is a way cheaper alternative than to pay a shop for their unit and have them install it which would be about 100-200 dollars. It is very easy to install, but you have to be able to figure out your wiring. Again Great product and can't beat the price.

Works great, 05 Tahoe
(Written by my brother-in-law) This works great in a 2005 Tahoe w/XM satellite radio. I removed the dashboard, radio, and AC controls and found a nice place just under the AC panel. I drilled a hole for the switch just in case I want to use that feature. The directions tell you to connect the red wire from the AA-GM12 to the "B3" pin that comes out of the truck's harness. Mine was pink. The female plug in the back of the radio explains which pins are which. I just spliced the wire about 3 inches from the harness and connected the red wire. Routing this red wire took the most thought as it barely reached (I could have extended it with some spare wire). If you put the AA-GM12 behind the radio, you won't have any problems.Remember that you turn the aux on with the band switch, setting it to XM radio. Then set the included switch to the correct position. If you don't want to use XM and only need to connect 1 device, you could set the switch, tape it, and store it behind the radio.I also drilled a hole for the 3.5mm connector I used. The plastic is soft and this was really easy.

Extremely poor sound quality
The installation of this unit was very straight forward for me in my 2006 Chevrolet 3/4 pickup with the Bose 6-disc in dash CD and XM radio equipped truck. But that was about all the good I could find with this unit. The sound quality is horrible with this item. I was hooking my iphone to this unit and trying to listen to everything from podcast to music. To get even tolerable sound out of this I had to turn the volume on my phone down to around half way, then crank the volume on the truck radio almost all the way to the max. And even then it can be hard to hear sometimes. I thought it may have been an issues with the aux cord I was using or the RCA to 3.5mm adapter I was using. Upgrading those to higher quality items did nothing to help with the sound on this unit. I would strongly encourage buyers to look elsewhere when considering this item, I wish I had.

An important tip for Tahoe's with XM radio
First, I am very happy with this product. It does exactly what it says and the sound quality is great, especially compared to one of these FM transmitters. Something to note, however, is that the instructions are not accurate for all cases. In my case I was fitting the unit to a 2003 Tahoe that has a CD changer integrated into the radio. And the radio also supports XM. I followed the instructions to connect the wiring loom into the unit and the power wire to the 12v switched wire on the radio. All very straightforward. The problem was that it did not appear to work. I followed the instructions and changed the radio to CD/AUX using the "Band" button. But no iPod music came through the speakers. I reconnected everything, checked the 12v wire was getting power and a few other things but no sound. Then I decided to change the radio to XM (instead of CD/AUX) and suddenly AC/DC came blasting through my car speakers from my iPod. I was a happy man. Only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because the instructions need to be improved. Otherwise it is a great product at a great price. I bought another one for my truck.

Very Happy!
I purchased this for my 2005 Chevrolet Suburban that does not have an 3.5 mm AUX jack. I wanted to upgrade the XMRadio that came with the truck to use my new Onyx Plus portable XM radio. I searched the internet for some helpful videos and proceeded to take the plastic dash cover off my truck and remove the stock double DIN radio. There is a 12 pin harness and a 24 pin harness in the back of the radio. I removed the 12 pin harness and inserted the 12 pin harness that is part of the AAI-GM12 unit, no problem. Then I hooked the original 12 pin harness into the back of the AAI-GM12 harness. Perfect. The tricky part is properly finding the 12 volt power that the AAI-GM12 unit requires. Once I did this (after emailing PAC Audio, and they're response was quick and helpful, it's pin B3 on the 24 pin harness and I used a wire tap for connection), I was able to get everything working great! This unit does exactly what I had hoped, and there is NO EMI (no engine whine noise intereference)!
