My aging Tumble Dryer (IDC85UK) had stopped heating. For the sake of a few £s, I thought I'd give this a go, rather than spending a few hundred on a new machine. The entire swap out process took me around 20 minutes in all, including giving the machine a good clean out. It's amazing how much dust gets in there. I now have a working tumble dryer, fingers crossed it lasts. Just as a tip for anyone looking to give this a go, I'd recommend starting by taking the right hand side-panel off {viewing the machine from the front), as you will need access to the heater plug to fully remove it. Secondly, when removing the heater panel itself, leave the 2 smaller inner screws in place, as this will allow you to remove the entire panel with the heater still attached. This allows you to fit the new heater much cleaner and easier.

Instructions would have been really helpful or link to video installation but YouTube helped instead. We'll see how long it lasts but massive improvements in drying time just in time for the spring clean. Most importantly, I've now saved massively on buying a new dryer.

2nd time purchasing in 6 years. Took my dryer apart myself both times to fit. Simple and easy replacement. Highly recommend, as it's saved me a fortune, twice!

If I could give this zero stars, I would. Although it states it’s compatible with the dryer, it’s not perfect, the connection needs to be forcefully made to fit as it’s not the same as the original. More importantly, it’s produces such intense heat that it burnt all the clothes in the dryer. So, all clothes in the bin and now I’m waiting for someone to collect the now defunct tumble dryer as I’ve had to buy a new one. Save your money, get an original part, not this cheap copy.
