Excellent to cover repairs for repairs to yard fencing or marine trailers
Liked the can size and ease of use. Good coverage after welding repairs!

Good stuff to preserve steel parts
I use this to inhibit rust on freshly welded steel parts. I thoroughly clean off the metal so there is direct contact between the zinc particles and iron to assure good anodic protection. I usually topcoat with paint because the cold galvanizing can rub off.

Works great on a metal roof
If you have rust starting on your metal roof, use this paint to preserve the metal. It has a primer already in it. The rust stops and so far we have not had to add to the same spot over several years. Cheaper than reroofing the entire surface. Just keep checking your roof 2 or 3 times a year to catch any places that might start rusting up so it doesn't get worse.

Think it will look like galvanized metal? Nope.
Well, I had hoped to just touch up the top rail of a galvanized gate that horses had rubbed and sweated on until it was rusty. It did cover the rust (after I used some steel wool first) but it is a powdery flat finish that looks pretty much primer gray. If is stays stuck I'll be happy enough, I did see where some of it was very thin it just rubbed off. I don't blame the company - I just didn't know.

A Must for Laser Engraving
Great with stainless steel and glass etching using laser technology. Fumes are safe. But it is expensive.

Great paint
I used it to refinish a gas tank. Rust-Oleum is great.

Works on Galvanized Sheetng.
Was getting snow build up on the outside walls for my pole barn causing the wood to rot. Covered the first 2 ft. of the pole barn with galvanized sheeting. had to cut out a couple of places for outdoor plugs and grounding wire. This sealed the edges of the cuts like they were never made.

Perfect
I work with a lot of galvanized metal parts, mostly antenna hardware, antenna towers, etc. Over the years I have used many brands of spray on zinc coating or cold galvanizing compound. I have found most of them very disappointing. Some produce rough surfaces, some flake off. This particular Rust-Oleum product has never let me down yet, and I have used it many times. It produces a nice smooth coating, stays on, and holds up well provided you let it cure long enough before handling or assembling parts. It is the only cold galvanizing compound I will use now. Unfortunately it has become very difficult to find in stores, so I must buy it on Amazon.
