Great “Meat” Alternative
I have been looking for good “meat alternative” options ever since my husband started his vegan journey. I am so happy I found this one. It comes dehydrated so at first the quantity seems small, but just follow the instructions and see this product change like magic. The instructions say to add 1.5 cups of water to 2 cups of product. That’s exactly what I did. I made sure to stir it so the product and water mixed well. I let it sit (about 15-20 minutes) while I cooked up an onions and tomatoes base for my dish. The product more than doubled in size in this time. I used it to prepare a vegan “ground beef” and bell peppers dish. It cooked like ground beef normally would, except with a much shorter cooking time. The finished dish looked similar to the one I would make with ground beef. The aroma, flavor and texture were all there without the “meat” tasting strange or rubbery. The product absorbed the spices really well and the dish turned out looking and tasting delicious. Am I switching over to a vegan diet? No, but I will happily eat this alongside my husband. If you are looking to add a “meat alternative” to your vegan options, and are in need of a product that cooks up easily and tastes great, I highly recommend this.

High protein - absorbs flavor
Good for “ground” meat substitute, I like to add to soups for liquid absorption, but super versatile and good protein source!

Mixed in granola - it was ok!
I mix it in with my granola recipe. I wanted to try to add a crunchy texture and make my granola have more protein. I can’t say it’s perfect, but it’ll do. I might try soy protein next time. It changed the taste a little, gave it a more peanut butter taste? But not in a bad way, still very yummy. The texture doesn’t really change or get soggy in the granola, which I was concerned about! Definitely not as crunchy as I’d like though!

Great TVP alternative!
I have always had soy protein that is very similiar in form, so I was surprised to learn that textured pea protein exists! My wife is trying to cut back on soy based products due to an intolerance, so this product was nice to have. It is plain and will take on whatever flavors you add to it. The chunks are slightly larger than what is pictured, which I appreicated since the texture could easily turn to power. We like to use this specifically for asian lettuce wraps. The protein soaks up the vinegars and soy sauces well, but still provide an easy, lean protein option for plant based folks! I look forward to incorporating this more into a variety of dishes!

Great pantry staple - keep this on hand
I've rebought this product 4 times and will probably continue to do so. It is a great substitute for TVP, which is not as healthy since it is heavily based on soy. Good, neutral taste makes it a great base for many dishes. It is very versatile. I use it to make meatballs, patties, or just some nice crumbles to put on top of pasta or use as filling for tacos. All you have to do is adjust the seasoning. It browns nicely in the skillet. Healthy and tastes great.

I was looking for a quick, high-protein meal and decided to use pea protein crumble in a stir-fry. After soaking it in vegetable broth, I cooked it the same way I would ground meat. The results were excellent—the texture and flavor were satisfying, and the meat wasn’t missed. My friends enjoyed the dish without realizing it was pea protein. This is an excellent, healthy alternative to ground beef.

Turned out well overall...
At first taste, I was definitely concerned about the texture, because after hydrating (using the directions on the package) it seemed a bit firm & unforgiving, yet it did nicely hold the flavor of the veggie broth I used to hydrate it. But, upon sautee with garlic, onions, and the natural sweat of cooked portobello mushrooms, the consistency turned out well. So, you may need to add a little more liquid than recommended. First time trying it today-- used it to make tacos. Will probably get a total of 4 meals out of the 7.9oz bag-- but, several servings per each meal (i.e. 4-6 tacos).
