Flume Waterproof Mid Hiker is the best shoe for rough, uneven wooden trails, slippery grass, and unstable pavement, making them the best shoes for your hiking lifestyle. The rubber digs into the Earth, gripping all terrain to keep you steady. Designed for high stress use, leather is strong and comfortable, so even if you lose your footing and scrape against the ground, you can be confident they won’t fall apart. Timberland created a pair of shoes that can go from hiking up a rough mountain through the trees to walking along smooth pavement. The height of these shoes is also perfect for accommodating all shifts in the ground without injury. These shoes by Timberland are built to move with you during every change in your day. Review: We are on our third pair of these now. They are suitable for walking for most of the year but aren't warm enough if it's very cold. So comfortable to wear. Review: I bought these almost two years ago (7.5 weeks short of 2 years) and I wear them almost every single day. They're my primary shoes and I wear then when out and about as well as hiking and camping. I'm a Cubmaster for a Cub Scout Pack and we go hiking every month, plus a ton of camping and other outside activities. They've held up super well and have stayed waterproof the whole time. I'm looking at getting a new pair now only because I've completely worn through the sole in a few spots. The only other area that seems to be wearing is the lace hooks. Over time they tend to bend outward so sometimes the laces slip off. I've been able to press them back in a bit tighter, but I'm afraid that eventually the back and forth will make one break. As it turned out it didn't matter since I'll be replacing these with a new pair now. ## 2020 UPDATE ## The second pair lasted just as long as the first. I still wore them almost every day, on hikes, walks, yard work, and more. They're still waterproof and the only reason I need a new pair is that I wore through the soles again, just shy of 2 years again! This pair didn't have the issue with the lace hooks. I'm ordering my third pair tonight!

I’m still working on my breaking in period. I wore them to my part time job, on my feet for about 6 hours a day and day one my dogs were screaming. After 3 days I was really feeling these shoes, good fit! My past experience with “Tims” best shoes ever! I should have just resoled my last ones, if anyone does that anymore?

Work boots vary greatly in size, that's why I mentioned it. I was looking for a pair of work boots that were comfortable, waterproof and lightweight. I found them. I work in construction, so I'm on my feet most of the day. I've only worn these boots for 1 shift (10 hours, out in the elements), but I love them already. - They were definitely waterproof. - They didn't need a break-in period at all - comfortable right out of the box. - They provide great arch and ankle support. The only question left is how long will they last. I'll check back in if they don't hold up. **update** Still going strong 1.5 years later. **update 2/16/18** I can't get rid of these boots, even though they stink to high heaven (a wash in the machine helps briefly, but that's the case for all old shoes). On the bright side, they're still water-proof and still comfortable. I bought another pair when I saw a great deal on amazon, but I refuse to wear them until something gives out on the originals. Strong odor be damned. They're work boots for me, after all.

I bought directly from Amazon. These are very comfortable but they don't match the photos. From a functional point of view, I would rate these 5 stars. They kept my feet warm and dry during the 7+ hours of snow shoveling during the Jonas storm. I am a size 10.5 and the actual fit is true (I did not have to buy a larger size). I am disappointed by a few things. I bought the "Dark Brown" version but the color of the rubber part clearly doesn't match Amazon's photo. Amazon shows the rubber part as nicely matching the color of the top leather. It doesn't. As my photos show, the rubber part is actually tan colored. If you're buying the dark brown version for the appearance, you will be in for a surprise. The black version is more expensive, but maybe Timberland did a better job matching the color of the leather to the rubber. If I hadn't ordered t his right before the snow storm, I would have returned it. The color difference between the top and bottom doesn't look stylish. The tan colored rubber bottom just cheapens the appearance. Also, after only one use of these shoes in the snow (about 1.5 hours), there was discoloration of the leather. This was very surprising as I hadn't gotten any salt or anything on them. I'll need to find a polish kit or something to fix that.
