Lackluster cookbook but it does contain quite a few recipes
I was a bit disappointed in this cookbook. It does contain a lot of recipes and for the most part they look like they could be good. The book needs better formatting to be useful. A lot of the recipes run over onto the next page so if you are following them you have to keep flipping back and forth. Cookbooks should do their best to keep a recipe confined to one page. I wish the cookbook contained pictures but it's understandable to keep them out to keep costs down and to get the book on the market sooner. One of my biggest complaints is that the cooking instructions are too vague. A large majority of the recipes I read never indicated HIGH or LOW pressure if the setting recommended has the option to choose. I also didn't see any directions on whether to close the vent or leave it open for cooking. It is probably safe to assume that since the Express Pot is primarily a pressure cooker that you would have to close the vent, but it would have been nice to have that in the directions. The small cookbook that came with the Express Pot included that and it took any guesswork out of the recipe.Overall, it's a good cookbook for $8 just to have recipe ideas but it might take some practice with them to get them right. I haven't tried any of the recipes in the book yet so maybe my opinion will change once I try some. Just looking through it, though, leaves a little to be desired.

Some fake reviews found in rhe review section.
I have written to Crock Pot. I doubt this book was endorsed by Crock Pot. Crock Pot is a patented brand name. My hope is Crock Pot will sue this author. Don't trust that the reviews are all legitimate. One review remarked about how great the book is because of all the the nutritional information offered. That is as far from the truth as you can get. Another said the recipes don't always tell what settings to use. This too is not true. It tells you but not enough info given nor in the correct order. On one hand I'm looking forward to trying many of the recipes. I'm already convinced, just by the ingredients, that I will enjoy many of the meals I'll make using this book's recipes. On the other hand, I'm honestly a bit uncomfortable as to how my meals will turn out as there are so many blatant errors. I'm embarrassed too for the author. I can't imagine having my name on something so filled with errors. There are many typos and more. I found some of the recipes lacking in specifics such as when to add some of the ingredients. One recipe, page 137 Bean and Corn Salad, mentions soaking two cups of beans overnight. Several ingredients down 4 1/2 cups of water is listed as an ingredient. It's as if these two ingredients or steps in the recipe are not related...but maybe they are. It's not specific enough. Because of the lack of specifics, the likelihood of mistakes is high. I watch every penny of my hard earned money and can't afford to toss out my food. Work is needed, Dave. If spelling, grammar, sentence structure etc are not your thing and you're 12 or more years old, you know these are weaknesses. Asking for assistance is not just okay it is a must. No one said great cooks have to be great in spelling etc. If someone did proof your work then they owe you big. I'm cooking my first meal from your book later today and i anticipate a wonderful meal.I’ve now decided this is the worst cookbook I’ve EVER seen. Don’t buy. Total waste of money.

Needs to be edited.
I bought this cookbook because I had just bought the crockpot express and wanted some recipes to get me use to using it, since I have never used a pressure cooker before. I will say that some of the recipes I have tried have been very tasty. My disappointment in this book is that the recipes are not well organized. I am use to having ingredients listed in the order they are used in a recipe. So when you are making the recipe you have to pay very close attention so you do not miss an ingredient in the steps. There are also some instructions missing in some of the recipes, and there are some typos. I think there was just a problem with the editing before it was published.

I consider the Kindle cookbook to be above average with respect to the preparation and simplicity of the recipes. However, the format leaves much to be desired for it to be used on an ongoing basis. The primary deficiency is an absence of an index of the recipes and the ability to go directly to a chosen recipe when using on a smartphone. This deficiency is not present on my Samsung tablet; there is an index at the front of the book.

Printing is not legible.
Placed order, received book timely. Contents are very helpful as this is for the specific kitchen product that I purchased and getting accustomed to using. There are no photos so it's basic. There are a lot of recipe to select from and several I have made are tasty.Three star for quality. And less rating for quality control prior to releasing this book. Almost every page starting at the content page "mustard and.....' line has a printing issue and the bottom half of those lines are not printed, thus making some recipes impossible to follow if you can't make out the ingredients.Once I saw it, it was easy to see just by flipping pages. Poor product control rating

My pet peeve no index but ok for beginners
I didn't like that this book didn't have an index. I had to constantly flip back and forth looking at the table of contents for different recipes containing the item I wanted to cook. I thought some of the recipes were kind of odd. There's a whole section of Chefs Selection that I would never use. The author left out whether to use the natural pressure release. I would be more discerning on the next cookbook. It's an ok cookbook for starters, much better than the recipe book that came with the Crockpot Express.

Good recipes but a few glitches
A lot of recipes to try. I’m going to have fun experimenting with my new express pot. There are a few mistakes in the book. For instance, an easy apple pie recipe looks like it’s really Crema brûlée. Burrito shells on another recipe should be taco shells. If you overlook a few glitches here and there, you’ll find some good recipes.

Good variety of around 60 different recipes
The recipes seem to have been chosen to show the versatility of the cooker. I am sure that each recipe could be used as a prototype for the type of dish and could be easily adapted. I didn't give it five stars because all the measurements were not in units I use - cups rather than litres and grams or fluid ounces and ounces, and there were no useful iluustrations!

Not written for the health conscious!
I bought the book as the instruction manual / recipe pamphlet that comes with the crockpot is so limited. I wanted something to help me test the range of the crockpot and generate some ideas as to what to use it for. I can use it to help with that, but I wouldn't use the recipes in the form they are in, so much cream, butter, fat used in the recipes that they need serious amending in order to save your arteries!

So easy to use.
So impressed with this pressure cooker. I have made Stews/chilli/curry, cooked a whole chicken in 30 mins. Absolutely love the fact you just cook with one pot. Highly recommend.

One of the worst books I've ever bought!
It's a really disappointing cook book. Not really of any use to me at all. I wish I hadn't wasted my money. In this day and age to produce something so dull and boring is a disgrace.

Misspellings.
Very frustrating to read so many words being misspelled in this book. Thought there would have been more information about using the crockpot in the book. Have yet to try recipes as only arrived yesterday.
