Didn’t work with hairdryer

I bought this voltage converter to be able to use my Dyson hairdryer while on vacation in Italy. When I plugged in my hairdryer the converter made some sound and when I turned on my hairdryer, it didn’t do anything. I tried it several times in different outlets but the same happened. The packaging says it can take up to 2000W, but apparently that is not correct. Very disappointing

FRIED MY BABYLISS FLAT IRON - DON'T BUY IT

In Barcelona this Voltage Converter fried my BaByliss PRO flat iron (I'm out $183). The description stated that it was "special designed for Revlon/Conair/Babylisspro Hair Tools". Less importantly, the Adapter socket won't stay in the wall outlet with the heavy converter piece, and I had to prop the whole thing up with a tissue box and books. This is a piece of junk!
