LG 34WK95UP-W

Purchased in November 2021 with a 2-year warranty. A reasonably good monitor, large working area but I find it a little dark, even in a home office with no direct sunlight. When using with a MacBook Pro, I can't use the full scaling as text becomes too small to read. I use a resolution of 2560x1080 rather than the available 5120x2160, which rather defeats the object of a 4k/5k monitor. BIG problem is that the monitor has failed 3 times in last 2.5 years. First failure was Apr 2022 when a flickering line appeared across the top third of the screen. Had a tough time getting LG to repair and took 4 weeks for them to send a box, pickup, repair and return. Second failure was Nov 2022 when a large rectangular box in the middle of screen started flickering. Again, took 4-5 weeks for LG to repair and return. Third failure has just occurred, Feb 2024. Now the monitor is just out of 2-year warranty and LG don't warrant their repairs, so even though the last repair was less than 2 years ago, LG won't repair the monitor. I asked for an out-of-warranty repair quote but LG customer support said they don't have any out-of-warranty repair options in the UK and to sort it out myself. I've complained to LG customer services via email based upon the consumer rights act 2015 which says goods should be repaired if they are between 6-months to 6-years old, and await a reply from LG. I also have the LG 23" 4k monitor that was purchased directly from Apple, I've not had any problems with this and it's build quality, perhaps because it was being sold by Apple, is a lot better. Personally, I won't be purchasing another LG monitor.

Ich nutze seit vielen Jahren iMacs für meinen Job als Fotograf. Gerade die letzen Generationen mit den 27“ 5K retina Displays haben mich begeistert! Nun bin ich umgestiegen auf den Mac Studio und brauchte ein Display. Nach langer Suche kaufte ich mir also diesen LG. Der erste Eindruck war ok. Das Problem ist, dass direkt daneben noch der iMac steht. Das Bild ist praktisch eine andere Welt. Das Bild des LG ist das eines guten Displays. Das Bild des Apple 5K Retina wirkt dagegen wie der Blick durch ein offenes Fenster an einem klaren Tag. Ich habe den LG nun so gut es geht eingestellt und kalibriert. Er erfüllt seinen Zweck. Resümee: Der LG ist sicher ein gutes Display. Wer aber die 5K eines Apple Displays als direkten Vergleich hat, wird enttäuscht sein. Dann lieber etwas mehr Geld ausgeben. Ich warte auf die neue Generation der iMacs und wähle dann wieder diesen Weg.

Alors que LG annonce sur leur site que le moniteur est "Puissant et polyvalent. Parfaitement compatible avec les MacBooks, Thunderbolt™ 3 garantit une productivité et une efficacité optimales. Une fois connecté, un MacBook se charge à 85 W et peut utiliser des vitesses de transmission de données incroyablement rapides.", ce n'est pas le cas puisqu'il n'est pas reconnu par mon MAC M2 max 2023. Il l'a été durant 3 semaines puis plus depuis. Il fonctionne en HDMI est mais pas en 5k. Ce moniteur n'a donc aucun intérêt pour moi. LG contacté, leur réponse est étonnante : "il semble que la problématique est connue par les services Apple et est lié à la gestion due Thunderbolt par les processeurs Apple Silicon. Je vous invite dans un premier temps à contacter le support technique Apple pour voir s'ils ont une solution à vous proposer. " Si cela avait été indiqué sur le site, je n'aurais pas acheté ce moniteur. Très déçus donc.

Dès que mon mac passe en veille, lors de la sortie la définition devient ingérable lorsqu’on utilise le câble usbc qui auto alimente et charge le MacBook. J’ai donc 2 câbles. Dommage.

Le cable Thunderbolt livré avec l'écran ne fonctionne plus. J'ai donc demandé son échange depuis plus de 4 SEMAINES !!! sans réponse. Au contraire, il a clos 2 fois mon ticket. Donc SAV NUL !!!
