Amazon sells (it never giveth) and Amazon taketh away
I wanted to use this tablet as a portable "Echo Show", and it appeared to be suitable from many reviews. However, overnight on the first day a software update was applied which removed the Show capability. This rendered the device USELESS for its intended purpose, so it was returned along with the accessories purchased at the same time. At least I got my money back, but it reminded me of an incident some years ago when Amazon deleted a book remotely from Kindles.

Refurb fire tablet , reasonable price
The tablet itself was in good condition, like new. The issue with buying refurb IT devices is that you are getting a reduced length of supported lifespan (in terms of software security updates) compares to a new device. So long as the reduced price reflects this, it's good. For me, this was the case so I'm happy.
