This song was all the rage when I was a member of a student party visiting Sardinia in the mid-1960s. None of us spoke Italian but we were all able to sing snatches of the lyrics by the end of our stay. Now, 50 years later, I have started to learn Italian, and I was thrilled to make contact with the song again, and sung by the same singer! It immediately transported me back to those idyllic days. ( We watched England win the World Cup whilst there, on a scratchy black and white TV with an Italian commentary, surrounded by wildly excited Italian students.)The eponymous song is the star of the collection. It delivers its strong message with such clarity of diction that I would recommend it as a good listen for Italian classes and for new students of the language. The melody is catchy - well, it 'stayed' with me for fifty years, so it must have something!

This is my husband's favourite singer. I also like it. I liked the sixties sentiment when we were young and eager to change the world. The tune is brilliant and before its time. I trip of nostalgia.
