Excellent
Excellent paint. I used it for refurbishing an old metal work bench and some sheet metal. It came up really nicely, as shown in the images. I first used a wire brush and degreasing fluid to scrub off the old grease and rust, then pressure washed it to get all the debris off. Once dried, I then applied two coats of the Hammerite paint. It's created a great finish. The small dimples from the hammered finish look really smart. Recommended. 👍

Still good stuff...
Been using this for years on metallic stuff around the house and especially outside in the garden. Does a good job, but requires acetone for brush cleaning.

Great product
Hammerite silver finish direct to rust metal paintI have been using Hammerite for years and it has always produced great results, this one is no exception. I used it on wood as I wanted it to match my motorised scooted and needed it to have a tough finish. That was months ago and despite rough treatment it has lasted well.

Good coverage and happy with the finish
I used the Hammerite to protect the sills on my car, I was going to use Hammerite Under Body Seal with Waxoyl but it’s thick like tar which makes it harder to apply, and it smells. The tin says you can paint it over rust, but I wouldn’t recommend it. I think it’s worth spending time preparing the surface first, try to get as much surface rust off as you can using a grinder, wire brush or wire wheel on a drill. Treat the surface first with Kurust before applying 1-2 coats of Hammerite Paint. The Hammerite paint is quite thin which makes it very easy to apply, it’s easy to get in to the nooks and crannies. The paint goes on very easily and it dries quickly, I was very happy with the finish. The hammered effect helps hide any imperfections which would be more noticeable if using Hammerite Smooth.
