Why so short??
My 9 yr old son watched the Tour De France this year. He was smitten. Worked hard at extra jobs and saved his money for 'real' shorts. I vouched for Pearl Isumi as a brand.The result?!1) Not a very good pad. 2) Uncomfortable middle seam. BUT the worst thing? 3)These shorts are WAY too short (inseam) and they ride up even further as my son rides. They don't fit like cycling shorts should!I located another brand and we replaced them.had to eat the cost cause i insisted he 'get used to them' ---But In the end I agreed with him. just not 'right'.

A litte smaller than expected.
Pretty good quality but not as nice as other Pearl Izumi stuff I have. The shorts were a bit small. Really tight on my slightly big 10 year old.

Good bike shorts for the money
Well made shorts that fit as expected. Padding a bit thin but a 70 lb boy doesn't need as much as a 170lb adult.

Nice shorts!
These are a great kid's biking short. The only complaint I had is that the pad is very thin. It will give my son some comfort on long rides, but could have been a little thicker.
