Great Pencil!
This is a comfortable mechanical pencil. I like the thick lead, does not break. And the design of the pencil does not roll of the table. I do word search puzzles on the couch and when I put the pencil down, it does not roll. I do wish it came in other colors.

Unique and Useful
I've been disappointed with how easily my .5mm leads break with my Alvin Draftmatic when I'm sketching big or bold. Wanted a thicker lead so that I could use 2B without having to deal with constant breaks. This pencil is a great compromise, with 1.3mm leadIt weighs nothing - like a feather. Took a while to get used to, but I like it now. Feels great in the hand, nice and chonky, and I haven't had a lead break yet. 1.3mm is fat and sturdy, yet not so big you need to sharpen it. Big pencil, big lines. The tip retracts inside for protection. The eraser is refillable with the June Gold retractable 12 pack, just cut them in half. I don't usually like plasticky things, but this is the exception. Bought the mega pack of Bild 2B leads and I'm all set.

Comfortable, easy writing
It writes so lovely for someone who doesn't like a fine tip. I have messy handwriting, so the 1.3mm is perfect. Nice grip

Pencil is good, not for EDC
I bought this to use hopefully as an EDC mechanical pencil. I’ve carried a Fisher Space pen in my pocket now for at least 10 years and have found myself at times wishing I had a pencil instead. My absolute favorite mechanical pencil is the Write in the Rain 1.3mm pencil, I have at least four of them, one in each of my notepad pouches.I’ve attached a few photos to show how big this pencil actually is, including one that compares it to the Write in the Rain 1.3 mm pencil. This one is just a tad too long and a much to chunky for EDC.I included my EDC pouch from Alpaka that I started carrying about a year ago after I poked holes in my pockets with my pen and flashlight (luckily I caught each one as they dropped out while walking).

Wide grip and amazing!!!
Recovering from a severe injury to my right arm and now having to learn to write with my left hand. This pencil is beyond perfect!!! So easy to hold and came with a section of lead ready to use. Wish they came in different colors, but I'm in love!

To draw is to live!
Yes, this is the pencil I have been looking for. I wish I had it when I took drafting years ago. Now, it is the perfect tool for those back of the envelope designs I am famous for. All good engineering takes place between the brain and the paper, and this is the tool you need. Try teaching a student a new concept one on one, you will find you have to draw. Always have the right tool at hand, and this is it!However! If you look at the photos, after constant daily use small cracks form on the three corners, loosening the press fit. The grip pushes away from the barrel. Still going to use after a touch of super glue to cracks and an over wrap of 1” gorilla tape on barrel.Just lost one star as I really use this a lot.Daily crossword and soduku and it doesn’t rip the paper. I’ve become a sketching fiend since I got it- inspired by having the right tool. Use for my log entries and notes.Where the rubber grip is the two sections began to fall apart from too much spring tension when clicking to extend the lead. I went to my composites lab and added a touch of JB Weld at each corner and across the ribs. Let set an hour. No problems since!I used this pencil dozens of times a day. I get asked where I got such a neat pencil. Amazon Staedtler! You got your star back.Leave it in my jacket pocket at work, so I got another one for at home!

Perfect pencil for those with ADHD
I bought one of these pencils in college many years ago but lost it then forgot about it, including how great the pencil was to hold and write with so long ago. I just randomly saw the exact pencil on amazon when i found a really old case of 1.3mm lead in my desk and wondered where it came from and why i even had 1.3mm lead. Thought I'd look up 1.3mm pencils on amazon to see if i could make use of this thicker lead because not only had i had been breaking lead from the 1.7mms I've been using lately, but the pencils seem to have a mind of their own. Lo and behold i saw this yellow staedtler pencil on amazon and thought it looked familiar. Then I remembered the pencil i had from almost a couple decades ago and how it was the best pencil i ever had. The 1.3mm lead i found in my desk was from that one I bought with the original many years ago! Thats why i had it! I did not hesitate buying it again. Glad i bought it again because I have ADHD and noticed that the pencil is able to keep up with my brain which means i can write without the pencil lagging so I'm able to write without errors or constantly breaking lead. Totally unbelievable! After some thought I surmise the reason for this is that the pencils large surface area (size) means more haptic signals going to the brain, thereby minimizing the possibility of loss of signal like what happens when i write with smaller pencils. I get so frustrated from writing with smaller pencils due to continually breaking lead and making writing mistakes. Many times im writing something contrary to what my brain instructed to write nanoseconds earlier. With this staedtler that doesn't happen. Weird but true...
