Curl Assurance Gentle Cleansing Shampoo - 12 oz

Not for everyone but I love this shampoo and haven't found anything quite like it. It is extremely gentle (almost more gentle than a cowash) - it will not clarify your hair so every 2 weeks or so you will need to use something stronger. But if like me, you have super fine wavy/curly hair that gets quite oily at the roots and need to wash every few days, but don't want to strip your hair, this is perfect. My husband also uses this every other day (he alternates with NYM shampoo) - his hair is a bit thicker than mine and he has more of it, he would not be able to use this on repeat as much as I do. I use this alongside the curl junkie argan oil conditioner (it is very light and balances my hair).Other things that are great about this, the packaging is very nice and the smell is amazing.

My curls are nice but my hair still feels dirty.

The smell is way too strong and for me, unpleasant. I can not use it because I hate the smell, which lasts all day. They need a fragrance free version.

I wanted to love this, but I had the worst time feeling clean with it. It doesn't lather. This is probably because it's healthy and natural or something, but still... I have longish, thick hair, and I just couldn't tell where it was in my hair and if I'd rinsed it out.

I have tried many MANY shampoo products and I have mostly been disappointed with what I have found. After searching high and low I have only found a handful of products that work for my hair type (type 3b curls). And among these reliable products, curl junkie is one of them. I like this shampoo very much; for me the smell is not too strong. It is very gentle. I work out 6 times a week so washing my hair only once a week is not an option. So I have found that washing my hair twice a week with this shampoo has not resulted in dryness, itching, irritation, buildup, or increased frizz. I use it along with the daily cleansing conditioner. After which I use my usual styling products that continue to work well. I recommend it because it lasts a fairly long time, it is truly gentle and leaves my hair soft and manageable. It is free of the other harmful ingredients that over time weigh down, build up, or make my hair dry or frizzy, ie, sulfates, paraben, silicones.
