Took a chance on this given the terrible reviews. My 230V Husky 5HP compressor quit and I went through the process of testing the capacitors and the motor, and I replaceed the start capacitor but she still wouldn't fire? Motor tested fine? No shorts? So this new motor was cheap enough I just took a chance. But when I installed it it also wouldn't run? Turns out the pressure control switch connection was bad. This has points on it like an old GM. Now I have a spare motor as my original, as suspected was fine. Be sure to test the pressure switch. Mine was delivering 230V but one of the contacts had fused itself and caused a no start condition. Don’t waste your money
Bought this motor to replace the bad one on my compressor. Install was straight forward and it worked fine for 4 months. Then it started running slow and popping the circuit breaker.Contacted the manufacturer and explained the issue. They wanted to know: if I had wired it correctly, if the pump was good, pictures of the motors to make sure I had purchased the correct motor, videos of the compressor running with a load, without a load, videos of the motor running with the belt off then with the belt on. This took a month of corresponding with them. It was the old “runaround” routine.I contracted Amazon and was told sorry, you’re out of the return window. Contact the manufacturer.I should have just paid more money for a better motor.
