Simple and sturdy.
Nothing really much to say other than these are simple and easy to use guy line adjusters. Just make sure to look at the pictures/directions on how to use them. I've seen too many people complaining about these because they didn't follow the directions. They work great, they are very light and sturdy. I use them for my backpacking Hammock and also on my truck camping tents.

Easy once you figure them out
I ordered these because there were so many in the pack. I am using them to secure a tarp on my camp trailer. I used them with 3/16" diameter braided line and you can pass the rope through one of the holes and tie a figure 8 knot as a stopper and it works well. If using 550 paracord this way it will probably be better to use the smaller hole. This was just the thing for cinching the ropes up tight. I will have to go check on them to see if they loosen up over time. But if they stay tight I will be pleased.

Perfect for backpacking
I've seen this style of tensioner in photos but never tried them. Looking for lightweight compact tensioners and for this price and free returns couldn't go wrong. The way they're pictured I couldn't get to work well. They definitely stay put that way but very difficult to tension or loosen. Not how I like to use a tensioner. So I played around with different ways to configure them and came up with this. I haven't used them overnight, but they seem very stable using this type of nylon tie-out. I didn't think it would work as well with 550 cord because of the difference in stiffness in the cord, but that seems to work just as well. Giving 4 stars on "ease of use" just because I couldn't get them to work like everyone else seems to use them. EDIT: I ended up leaving that corner of my 10ft canopy tied out using that tensioner for over a week, including some pretty windy storms, and it held. There was no decrease in tension over that time and when I pulled up as in my video it came right loose. I'd made some tensioners from PVC that I could positively lock in place, but this is smaller, simpler, easier to use, and seems to hold just as well. I think for our upcoming trip I'm switching to these.

Works very well.
Extremely lite weight and works very well. Price is right as well. Cheap, lite and effective. Happy with this purchase.

A very cool product design
These are the perfect thing for tensioning guy lines on tents or temporary vertical lightweight masts. I used them with a fiberglass 30 foot mast to tension the guy lines so they are secure, but easy to do or undo. A great invention.

Better for tightening down than “peanut” hole/slot/slot style tensioners
I bought these as well as the “peanut” type of tensioner that is smaller and has a hole then 2 “c” slots (see my last photo), because I wasn’t sure which would work better for my project. Turns out they each have their place, I used the other peanut style for some initial tie downs for a shade tarp for our deck, they’re very low profile and sit flat to the rope nicely. These “alien” style tensioners though were what I used to create actual tension in the lines. Using the tie method video from Lem Wells’ video and review on this product page I was able to use the alien tensioners to get nearly as much tension as I could’ve with a trucker hitch. The flat / peanut style you can’t really get as tight because if you really tighten the line then you won’t be able to get it back through the final “c” slot, these you fasten down and then tighten. They’re very effective in that way. Also the tie off hole is fairly small, but I was still always able to get 550/7-strand cord through - albeit with a little difficulty - even if the cord had a fairly large burned end. If I have any issues I’ll update this review.

Small, Easy, Awesome
These little guys are great! I'm using them with my tarp rig and they're just awesome. I have 6 of them on 3 meter lines of 3mm cord and another 4 on 8 meter lines. All 10 have carabiners on one end with a bowline and these on the other end with a simple stopper knot. I can get my tarp up in 3-4 minutes with these things. They hold tight and work great!

These are sturdy, well finished and perform their function well however ...
These are sturdy, well finished and perform their function well however are difficult to use and adjust. Once you have the cord as tight as you need you have to pull a loop through the large hole then around one of the "ears". This isn't easy as your line is already tight. Once you have it looped and secured tightening the line is next to impossible without unsecuring it and starting over. There are better options for cord tensioners

Its an amazing item. Made of Aluminium and it thought it was small but the size is great. Better than expected. Very simple to use and I used it to hold the guyline in my backyard tarp. The nylon thread that's used to tie is a Paracord Planet Glow in The Dark Micro Cord or Choice of Reflective Micro Cord Colors: 1.18mm Diameter by ParacordPLanet. Just Amazing!

I like that they are small & light. I wish there were instructions, as you can use them in a few ways.

These are well made alloy units and much better than the plastic ones that can break due to UV weakening. Move away from microplastics in our environment at a great price.
