The item has quit working already!!!! Defective cord!!! Loved this item when it was working!

I set the clock up, as per instructions (which aren't great, but aren't as bad as some other reviews make it seem). Set the date to 5th December... which is a Thursday... but the clock displays Saturday. You can't change the day, so it's stuck like that. You also can't change the display to remove the day. Also, there doesn't seem to be an option to keep the display on all the time. I want this as a discreet clock in the bedroom so I can check the time quickly in the night... I don't want to have to clap or yell to check the time and wake up my wife next to me! (That said, I didn't try very hard to figure this out once I realised the day would be wrong I'd already decided I was probably going to return the item!
