Reliable, Comfortable & Built for the Kitchen – A Solid Choice
As someone spending hours working in a hot kitchen, I've tried a few chef jackets—but the Whites Boston B250 (size L) quickly became my go-to. After using it for several months, I can say it strikes a perfect balance between functionality, comfort, and value. First impressions: It’s made from polycotton lite-twill (80% polyester, 20% cotton), a breathable yet sturdy fabric that washes easily and resists wrinkles. At roughly 190 g/m² it feels light without sacrificing durability. Design & Fit: The short sleeves are ideal for staying cool during the busiest service periods—they allow good air circulation and freedom of movement. The double-breasted, unisex design with stainless steel press studs gives reliable front‑to‑back protection against splashes and occasional spills, with the added convenience of reversing to hide minor stains if needed. The fit is relaxed and roomy, letting me bend, stretch, and move freely without feeling restricted. It's sized well for most kitchen staff, and the sizing has been accurate in my experience. Durability & Care: I’ve laundered mine regularly in industrial washes—it still looks crisp and hasn’t shrunk or lost shape. That said, the white fabric can stain more visibly than darker jackets, and some of those stains can be tough to get out. Still, that’s part of kitchen life, and I’ve found minor wear totally acceptable given the price point and ease of care. Personal experience: One feature I love is how lightweight and breathable it remains even after many washes. It never feels heavy or clingy under intense heat, which makes a real difference over long shifts. And the reversible design with press studs means I’m covered even during messy prep or cleanup.

Cheap & cheerful. You get what you pay for.
Cheap & cheerful but sweaty. The polyester material makes you sweat in the kitchen. Not recommended... buy a pure cotton if poss.
