Good hard drive for surveillance (continuous) use. My last one lasted ~4 years and ran great the whole time.

Failed after less than 5 months; drive just clicks on boot. Initiated warranty return with WD (which was a major hassle, and I had to pay shipping and packaging costs myself), and their warranty status shows the drive I purchased from the US on Amazon.com is "OUT OF REGION" meaning "Product is outside the region (Americas, Europe-Middle East-Africa, or Asia-Pacific) where it was originally shipped." If you buy this product, there's a good chance you have no warranty coverage.

I put it in my Synology NVR. Works great.

I ordered this WD purple color 4TB due to its endurance of long recording of data and use it as a backup. It packed well and it works so far so good.

So far bought two WD blue and three WD purples and they all came brand new in the static protection bag and all made either in 2022 or 2023,all CMR, i will be trusting the seller for all future storage purchase
