Great, sturdy, durable collar that fades
I really do love this collar. I bought the one with the metal buckle in XL (pink) for my young, 130 pound English Mastiff. It arrived and I was very pleased. Beautiful, vibrant color. Sturdy, heavy-duty material. I put it on my girl right away and she has worn it every day for the past 7 months. It is still in great condition. Seams are holding well, no threads coming out. Buckle is still solid. Everything is great, except..... the color. The top of the collar that goes across the back/top of her neck is very faded. (She has free access to both indoors and outdoors. She primarily lays her lazy self in the house or in the shade if she’s outside. So, she’s not out in the sun all the time or anything.) I included pictures to show the beautiful vibrant pink on the inside of the collar, as well as the faded outside. It makes the collar look old and worn, but the collar is truly in great condition. So, I guess, I’m admitting to being a little vain... I wish it was still pretty. I really want to buy another one now (just for the color to be better) but the practical side of me can’t get rid of the current one because it is such a good collar and is still in great condition (except for the color). So, 5 stars because it’s a really great, sturdy, durable collar; but only 4 stars for durability because it has faded so badly.

Poorly constructed.
I bought this for my Patterdale Terrier. I like wider collars for smaller dogs as it helps displace the force if the dog was to pull on the leash. While this collar is wide it is poorly constructed.Stitching is thin and minimal but the worse and most important issue with buying any collar is the construction of the D ring. The D ring is not a single solid piece of metal. Rather there is an open space in the middle of the D ring and if your dog were to pull or lunge the D ring will easily spread open and your dog will be off leash.FYI: The best collars have solid brass D- rings and made of ballistic nylon. This item is basic as they come.

Incredible company, high quality hardware, & attractive collars.
Right off the bat, Max & Neo is an amazing company. They really do donate 1-to-1 to rescues. I’ve personally worked with two small, local rescues in Florida and had the pleasure of unboxing the donated collars and leashes when they arrived. It was always exciting to see a Max & Neo box of goodies come in, and the rescues really benefitted from the donations. For small rescues, costs like collars and leashes really add up.For this product specifically:I have a 4lb dog. His neck measures 9” around, and I ordered the XS (8.5”-11.5”). Here are the pros and cons of this collar for my tiny dog:PROS:- Amazing color. Very vibrant.- Sturdy. I was surprised that I would find an XS collar that felt so sturdy. I was tired of his puppy collars that felt cheap. This nylon is strong without being too stiff and I love it.- Metal eyelets & high quality metal hardware feels expensive and looks great. I LOVE that they went with a gun metal grey instead of a traditional shiny silver color.- The reflective strip really does the trick at night and is discreet during the day.- Thicker than a cat collar, but not too thick for tiny dogs. Perfect. (5/8” if you’re curious.)CONS:- The buckle itself is just a little too bulky for a dog who will use this on the smallest holes, but it doesn’t bother me or my dog too much. You’ll see what I mean in the photos.- If you’re using this collar on the smallest holes like I am, there will be excess collar hanging off, which is normal for buckle collars. Tiny dogs don’t have much real estate in the face and neck area, so things that hang and dangle from collars can get all up in their business. This makes me wish there was an XXS option for a closer-to-custom fit, but it’s not a dealbreaker. All in all, I would recommend this collar for other small dog owners, and even the cons I listed aren’t enough to knock a single star off. We love it!

Almost perfect
This dog collar is almost perfect. Its thick and has a nice metal buckle, metal grommets, reflective stitching. The hole for the dog tags on the buckle is handy as we have accidentally looped the leash to the tags by mistake on other collars. So far the only downfall to this collar is that the D ring is a tad to small and maybe too close to the holes/grommets. I know that its meant to help hold/tuck in the excess end of the collar, which it can do if you are using the smaller holes, however then you have less space to loop the leash because the collar is so thick/it takes up too much space and its harder to get a leash clipped on.If you have it on the last few holes then the flap of the excess collar doesn't stay tucked in the D ring and then lies over it, making it harder to get to the ring underneath to attach a leash. Not a major deal for many people im sure, but our dog is still a rambunctious puppy and just attaching a leash can be a battle depending on his mood and this one makes it alot harder and longer to get a leash attached if he's moving around alot. Sometimes he will run off thinking its already attached when we are still battling to get things linked. We (and he) are getting more used to it and its getting easier, but just something to keep in mind maybe.

Excellent quality
We really love this and decided to get the larger size once our puppy grew out of the first one. It feels really durable and comfortable, and is great in terms of value!
