Best I've Owned
Best trimmer I've owned. Built like a BMW. Really solid, well-designed and put together, easy to use (love the slightly 'rubberised' feel of the casing which makes it slip-proof) and nice touches like a little bot of lubricating oil and a coiled lead, rather than a tangled-up straight one. The cut length dial (lockable) works perfectly, and there's an additional attachment for cutting longer hair/beards. Just a great piece of kit at a very reasonable price. Plus 2-yr guarantee, which is reassuring.

Good beard trimmer but the short cut head is harsh o the skin.
Bought this to replace my Braun cruZer 6 that I have used for years due to the battery not holding its charge. This model is very similar except for short trimming head that has a rotary control knob to adjust the cut length from 1 mm to 10mm using a 0.5 mm scale. The long trimmer head cuts from 10 to 20mm with a 1mm scale. These heads are interchangeable on both of my Braun shavers. This new model is essentially the same as the cruzer but in a black and grey livery. The short trimmer head is quite a bit sharper on my skin and I much prefer the cruzers short head when shaving.Performance is every bit as good with this model and it does a fine job. It comes with a light oil for lubricating and a small cleaning brush. The blades can be pulled open to allow cleaning of the actuator mechanism, same as the cruzer. The long trimmer is comfortable to use unlike the short one and I would have given 5 stars except for the rather sharp trimming head that can be quite uncomfortable on my skin. (Hence the 3 star for ease of use as its a backward step.)

Neatly and quickly does it.
I absolutely love this beard trimmer. The ability to trim at different depths and so easily is a blessing. My beard and moustache started in the summer of 2016, my first I have ever tried to grow in my many years. It started to get rather scruffy and I was having trouble keeping it neat with my normal Braun shaver, using the edge trimmer.I now can easily and qucikly trim my beard neatly and to a consistant length.I am sure this could also be used as hair trimmers for you head if that was required.A full recharge time of 8 hours seems to be very long, but normally I plug it in when i go to work and know it will be doen when I get back home.A five minute charge will allow it to do 1 trim.

Not bad
Good value, fees nice quality compared to others and has plenty of adjustments and attachments to do the job. Battery life isn't too great though, and it's not particularly powerful compared to other models I've had although doesn't cause a problem particularly. Doesn't work very well with no attachments ie bare clippers

Work well, good battery, but pay attention to maintenance.
You do need to be sure to clean internally (the top flips open) regularly, and oil as directed in the instructions. But apart from that they just work great. Battery life is still good after 2 years for 2 or 3 full weekly trims on one charge (helped by that regularly oiling). I use the small comb, so can't comment on the large one. The trim length adjustment, with its lock, works well for fine-tuning things. You can also use it without a comb for fine trimming work.

So I owned a previous iteration of this trimmer (Cruzer 6) and although it is not the best made they are more than good enough
Bought BT5050, bought at £25.00 in November 2016.**February 2018 Update:**The pro's of the Braun system are that it is cheap and the styling/length combs they come with are huge. However there is a fair MASSIVE con.The batteries are terrible. I have now owned a Cruzer 6 and a BT5050... and they last about 12-18 months before they do not accept charge/will not run at a decent enough rate. I will not be buying again... if they would just install a quality battery so that the effective life can be measured in years, rather than months. So I owned a previous iteration of this trimmer (Cruzer 6) and although it is not the best made they are more than good enough. The Cruzer 6 battery eventually diminished to the point where I would have to charge it 3/4 times to trim my beard (it was years old). Anyway I saw this and a Panasonic unit that appeared to be worthy replacements. This unit was, whilst I was pondering, heavily discounted. So I bought it.It is okay, but I thought that I was simply buying a like for like replacement for the Cruzer 6. BE WARNED THOUGH.... THIS UNIT DOES NOT HAVE THE PRECISION TRIMMER ATTACHMENT. That only exists on the two models above this one in the range. So now I have to buy an extra unit, which is an extra £10... which is disappointing, it makes a great deal merely an okay deal. For the price and performance this is a good option as a beard trimmer, it is just a pity that precision trimmer has been removed.

Gets the job done, runs well on a charge even when at low.
Like most low-mid priced trimmers I find I have to go over the same area multiple times to get an even cut, however this is much better than the similarly priced Remington MB320C I've had (two of) which took an eternity. Both models trim right up to the nose quite well.Seems to operate fine at all settings.Comes with oil, brush and a surprisingly decent travel bag.Gets the job done, runs well on a charge even when at low.
