GOLF The Best Driving Instruction Book Ever! (Golf Magazine) Hardcover – May 15, 2012

I always felt that the driver swing was different from all of the other clubs in the bag but finally a book that tells how to swing this club and it is a different swing. The driver for most golfers is the most difficult club to use but this book shows what type of swing you should make according to your physical capabilities. The video has several good tips. If you have trouble with the driver, get this book.

Some guys are just born to hit a gold ball. For the rest of us... READ THIS BOOK. Dropped 10 strokes off of my game by understanding my swing and commuting to practice and play better. It's not that hard guys.. knowledge is forever, flexibility is not.

I believe this is a worthwhile book for someone looking to understand the science of a golf swing. It takes the mystery out of the "perfect" swing. That is it clearly states that no one will have the ideal swing just based on a few swing thoughts and copying your favorite pro. Your body dictates the ideal swing. Once you stop fighting your body type you can then work on the finer details. Of course no book can replace a regular lesson by a teaching pro. As this is now the off-season time will tell.

Overall it's pretty good. But will depend on what sections appeal to you. There is a lot of it spent on if a player is a high, mid or low track swinger and a one, two or three post player. Lots of examples but as one reviewer alluded to it gets pretty complicated and technical. To the point that it's hard to find anything useful to put into practice, or if you should try to change your track. And I would question that, if you could actually figure out which of these nine combinations is your swing, whether their system of how to move, swing or shift for that particular combination is valid.That aside, there are many sections and drills. You have to wade through stuff to find useful information. I thought the chapter on range of motion and limitations didn't belong. The pictures of the pros are great. They did a good job with those and the rest of instructional pics. For the pictures and some of the useful information and drills in there it was a decent purchase. It could have been better, but this is a rare book that even though it wasn't that great overall I'd purchase it again.But it definitely doesn't deserve the title of "Best Driving Instruction Book Ever."

The commentary and illustrations are done very well. It makes is easy to see and understand the instruction. It is applicable to all ages and skill level. I liked how they didn't push one specific type of swing, but explained different variations of the swing.

I have been working hard to improve my driving this year. For some reason it was off at the start of the seasom. The tips in this book have really helped me right the ship when it comes to driving the ball.
