SCM Studyguide Pastoral Theology

As someone learning to be a hospital chaplain, I found this book very useful for it helped me to understand the humanity and spiritual aspects of this ministry.Part 2 of this book should be compulsory reading for any aspiring hospital chaplain as it covers, in a practical manner, how to approach this ministry through both spiritual and practical ways. I enjoyed the Theological Reflections and the questions that were posed through the book.Finally, the additional rferences were a very helpful in deepening an understanding of that Pastoral Theology is about.

This was a good read and interesting so far as it went. It didn't quite live up to my expectations which had been set very high by a fellow theology student, but perceptions are bound to vary.
