Rubie's Official Disney Star Wars Supreme Edition Darth Vader Collectors Costume, Adult Fancy Dress

At nearly 67 years old perhaps I should be past this sort of stage but over Christmas I watched some of the earlier Star Wars movies on TV and started thinking what fun it would be to transform into the Dark Lord himself, Darth Vader, one of the most iconic villains in cinema history. After a day or so searching the internet I decided that probably the best costume for me would be the Rubies DeLuxe Supreme Edition Darth Vader Costume. The price varies enormously from one supplier to another. The best price I found was here at Amazon UK. Now to the costume itself. It's big. I am 6 feet tall but rather skinny with a 34" waist and a chest that's not much wider. I am definitely going to have to use some shoulder padding under the jump suit to broaden my shoulders as the chest plate is very wide on my slim frame. Apart from that this costume really does look the part and once my lightsaber arrives ( yes I bought one of those too - you can't be DV without one) and I find suitable boots (not included with the outfit) my transformation into Lord Vader will be complete. One of the reasons I opted for this more expensive suit is that the cape is full length stretching right down to the ground. Much more sinister than the shorter capes with cheaper costumes. The mask and helmet are awesome and even chill ME when I look at them. This one comes with a battery operated breathing device which is effective but doesn't sound exactly like the respirator in the films. I'm quite fortunate in that I can do a pretty fair impression of Darth Vader speaking and I have bought a wireless voice amplifier with a head mike and a belt mounted black speaker unit (small and unobtrusive) so that I can actually speak as Darth Vader but with my voice amplified to complete the illusion when in costume. Quibbles - only minor. The chest and belt mounted light boxes require batteries and the lids to the compartments are screwed shut. I had great difficulty unscrewing all three, they were really tight. I got them open eventually but I was afraid of breaking the units, they shouldn't be as tightly screwed as they were. The cloak in the photos has grey strips which match the breast plate. My cloak is completely black. That's fine as it looks very menacing and I don't intend complaining, but it's not as shown. Anyway, if you want a life-like DV costume this is probably the best unless you are prepared to pay stratospheric sums for an exact replica. Roll on Halloween.

Was debating for ages on buying as didn't know the size would be correct. I opted for the std as I heard the xl was too big unless your 6ft 3 or4. I'm 6ft 1 and luckily they made a mistake and sent the XL and I tried it on it was loose but that was OK as you can bring it in with the belt etc. Overall it was great and kids on our street loved it. I combined it with a Zoom multistomp and speaker for voice change and separate speaker for breathing. Can't wait to wear it again next halloween 🤪

Item came and smelled damp, may have been stored or shipped and water has dried in. Either way I wouldn't have kept it as it's too much for such a screen inaccurate costume. Not amazons fault

Consider before spending! Don't order this if you are a serious cosplayer and want an accurate Vader costume. This costume is riddled with inacuracies, raging from shoulder armour (too thin and wrong colour paint), belt boxes, gloves etc, the list goes on. As a general costume its passable but expect critique if in the company of die hard fans. Be warned!

At £595.54 + £69.99 UK delivery you seriously must have more money than sense on this occasion. On a more positive note this is the only Darth Vader costume out there with a proper nob slot cut into the cod piece part of the costume so you can whip out your wee prawn at your leasure without having to spend 4-5 hours taking the costume off. I suppose if you really wanted to jazz this up you could automate the slot opening so by remote control your wee chopper could be exposed to any of the Star Wars fans in your area, you light even get lucky and someone might touch it which lets be honest would be the first time in your life that it happened.

To all who have written about the poor quality of materials used,how it looks and feels, you get what you pay for..You want the proper thing then expect to pay proper money and find an original website and don't always relie companies like Rubbies !!

Acquistato per lo più con l’intento di creare una statua espositiva funge da ottima base per essere modificato e migliorato qualitativamente. I materiali sono chiaramente di qualità modesta e l’estetica generale é ben lungi dall’essere Movie Accurate ma si presta bene come inizio o per chi vuole divertirsi senza troppe pretese ad interpretare uno dei più noti e storici Sith della saga di Star Wars!

Sólo tiene el problema de que da mucho calor y que la pieza de los hombros es algo grande para llevar encima con la capa enganchada. Necesario botas negras de tacón para que no arrastre. Fantástico los materiales, el acabado y sobre todo la fidelidad de los elementos como el casco es brutal. Los que midan menos de 1,80 mts.....

Der Preis ist zwar nicht ohne für ein bisschen Stoff und Plastik und man kann sich die Teile eventuell günstiger einzeln besorgen oder selber machen, aber hier hat man eben auf einen Schlag einen kompletten Vader der echt gut aussieht. Er hat bei mir auch den Black Series Helm bekommen. Der der dabei ist, sieht zwar grundsätzlich von der Form nicht schlecht aus, wirkt aber sehr billig. Der wird ein Bastel-Projekt. Irgendwann wird er noch sein Lichtschwert bekommen, dass ich so umbauen werde das es an den Strom kommt und ich mit den anderen Lampen im Zimmer per Funksteckdose Ein und Ausschalten kann. 🙂 Ein Stern weniger wegen dem Preis, aber sonst hab ich echt ne Mega Freude mit ihm 🙂 Edit: Mit ein paar kleinen Modifikationen sieht es echt gut aus, auch der originale Helm.
