Good adapter on the go.
I purchased this for my Galaxy Tab S - and in my opinion it works great. I was worried about the switch for USB and Reader mode but both functions have worked just fine. I didn't have to install any additional app or anything it just worked as soon as I plugged it in. Please note that currently the Galaxy Tab S experiences problems in file manager apps where any attempts to move, add, edit, or basically mess with any files on internal storage, microSD, external USBs (plugged into a device like this) fail. You have to use the stock file manager currently and none of the errors are due to adapter/read devices like this but instead have to do with the software in the newer devices out now. Hope to see a fix there soon.Update: It has been about a year and a half since I purchased this device. I have used it a fair amount - not a ton but I have had to plug in the occasional USB or SD card. It has continued to work well and I have used it on other devices - Kyocera C6530N & C6740N and loaned it to others to use. I haven't had any issues with the hardware itself. Any issues arising like cards not being read have been because of the operating system of the device. I still love having this little thing in my "mobile gadgets bag" with my charge cord and other handy things as my tablet often becomes my connection to my desk at home while I am away and it allows me to plug in USBs, my camera's SD, and other cards and read them. It is only a USB 2.0 connection so the transfer rate is slower but it is still helpful in a pinch which is why I dropped my review from 5 to 4 stars. I didn't add a picture of mine because the images here on the listing cover all angles and it is exactly what the device looks like. I do want to note that it is about half the size of an average credit/debit card and about 0.25" thick (0.5 cm).

YES, It is very easy to operate.
Happy. Nexus 7 of the 2013 line (right before they phased out into the new size models) is using it. In ES File Explorer Android app (I am at 5.0.2 OS right presently), the card is recognized in the sidebar utility. this clarifys hopefully for anyone how easy this unit works. Just using this unit, and plugged in memory, and ES file Explorer recognizes it, on the above mentioned hardware. Only One card at a time is recognized. It fits into the jack that the nexus charges by, and the fit is approaching snug and true. It may jiggle and disconect if you are mobile. Only negative. I have a case around the nexus and it doesnt block the unit in any way. Plenty of room to fit.I larked buying this, not knowing if it would work. Google has mystified the entire usb otg affair. Whatever, because now I have as much memory as is needed, can transfer files all around, swap memory, pull pictured from digital devices.... yeah, yay!As mentioned above, this is recognized automatically (and has the safely eject function) through ES File Explorer Android app. Do not think you need another app to "detect" this. Neither do you need those other apps, which declare you have to payto upgrade to transfer large file sizes. That is just typical app scam spam. ES File Explorer recognizes the card, manages it in-app, and handles large (gb +) file transfers quickly (& FREE!) Overall, I cant believe I had to purchase it to find out if it would work at all, but am very pleased with it. It is exceedingly tiny, like 5cm by 4cm by 1cm, and is weightless. It is the soft feeling plastic which many accessories are made of. Buy IT!

Does Not Work for Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 inch
Bottom Line: Out of the box does not work for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 inch.I just received this product, and I was looking forward to the potential capabilities. Out of the packaging this does NOT work with the Tab 3 7.0 inch, as the product description would have you believe. I tried it with other people's tablets and it works, but the Tab 3 7.0 inch does not recognize it. I'm sure there is an app for this, but at the moment I am unable to do any meaningful research. My Android operating system is 4.1.2I will update this post when I'm able to connect it to the internet and search for apps/fixes.<UPDATE>I still haven't been able to get this to work on the 7 inch. However, on the 8.0 inch Tab 3, I was able to get it to work and it works very well! The functionality I was expecting was met, while I was using the 8 inch version. I was able to move pictures to/from an SD card as well as watch movies from a USB stick.I believe the description from the manufacturer was updated to denote that it will not work on the 7 inch. When I bought this the product description simply stated "Galaxy Tab 3," it did not distinguish between the three sizes, which it does now.I upgraded my rating to a 4 star from a 1 star for this reason.

Works great, design is a bit clunky
This adapter works perfectly on my Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition and on my Note 3 phone. I tested an SD card, micro SD card, and a USB stick. I was able to read and write files using ES File Explorer. So this does exactly what I wanted. The design is a bit clunky because it has slots for so many different formats (it has additional slots for MS Pro and M2 cards). So it has to be a little larger to accomodate all of the slots. I like that there is an LED to show when the card is correctly inserted and being accessed. You do need to be careful since this plugs directly into the microUSB port without a cord. But, all in all, this works exactly as advertised. This also allows you to attach USB peripherals, but I did not test that functionality.
