The Pilgrim's Progress: Legacy Edition (Clothbound Hardcover) Unabridged and Easy to Read with Classic Illustrations

I am only 4 chapters in on reading this book aloud with my husband and already, it is one of my all time favorite books. The story is fascinating and helps to illustrate the narrow earthly walk I too am on, like Christian. The illustrations are outstanding. And the biblical references, although not from John Bunyan, enhance the overall understanding. I am relishing every word as well as the discussions it sparks. You will be blessed by this book. I have already ordered several more copies to give to relatives and friends. On top of all that, the book itself is beautiful. Love the ribbon for keeping my place.

This edition is written in easy to read modern English, and most antiquated words are defined in the margins. The margins also include scripture references which are especially helpful when John Bunyan mentions an obscure verse. The book itself looks great with the beautifully decorated cloth cover and the art featured throughout the book. The allegories in the book are excellently executed and edifying for Christians in any season of their Pilgrimage.

This is a well-packaged book. Having read the original text, I can appreciate the modernization of the language for a broader audience. It was a slog the first time I read it because of the archaic use of words and the colloquialisms that were relevant in Bunyan's time. This modernization doesn't detract from the excellent allegory and message this story provides. It is fulfilling, and as a Christian, the deeper meaning of the text (and the Biblical references where applicable) shines through. Plus it looks great along side your other hardback books in your library.

Absolutely beautiful edition! The writing is more easily understood than the old english version. I am so excited to have this copy! I started it right away and the pages are a joy to encounter at each turn. The map is a nice addition. Highly recommend!

Really nice quality book. Absolutely love the way it’s written. Feels like old English, but not too hard to understand. I’m reading this aloud to my 4 year old and we are both loving it. I highly recommend. This story really is a beautiful allegory for the Christian life. I’m grateful I get to read it to my son.

This is a beautiful production of this very special story. Got this one to give away as a gift but my husband loved it so much I gave it to him and will be buying a 2nd one to give away. :) Be sure and read the description/details given about this particular copy. Really great book! Love the pictures and all the scripture references in the margins. Reading aloud to my 6 and 7 yr olds. Would be great for any age though. Understandable yet advanced language. Beautiful cover!
