As with my other Makita products, great performance and quality
Very pleased with this Makita Blower Kit. Quality workmanship and easy to use product. Product performed as expected. The extra pair of 5.0Ah batteries are a great bonus, especially for the and item like this that requires a pair of 18V batteries to operate. PRO's: - Powerful blower with a wide range of air velocity settings (1-6) - Nice balance of the of the blower when the batteries are attached - Came with quick charge dual charger and 4 x 5.0Ah 18V batteries - Comes with one extension pipe with a round outlet - Both the blower and the individual batteries have power indicators showing state of battery charge - Blower compatible with all my other Makita 18V batteries, but the larger Ah batteries are more suitable for this blower due to it's power consumption. CON's: - If using the blower for extended periods, especially on the higher settings, it can get a little heavy. But to be clear I was aware of this when purchasing the product - it did not come as a surprise. Overall, very pleased with the product since purchasing it nine months ago.

Great blower!
I cannot tell you how happy I have been with this blower. It is absolutely powerful! It is just as good as anything that requires a plug. Its extremely well balanced But it is on the tad heavy side. But what that means to me is it’s built extremely well and it is! This thing is built just as well as any Makita tool you’ve ever used! It came with four batteries and a fast charger. The batteries charge in about 45 minutes. And when using the blower in a combination of lower speeds and full out high speed I was able to get a solid 25 minutes of usage per set of batteries. And that is fantastic to me! But one of the biggest values of the set is if you already have Makita tools. You can use these batteries with anything that you have Makita! Absolute amazing deal it’s a must if your invested in Makita!

The Makita Blower works exactly as my research said it would
We live out in the country and our driveway and patio get a lot of pine needles and leaves on them. I bought the Makita blower because I needed a leaf blower to be able to clean off the sidewalks. I'm not a commercial user, this is just for my own home. The unit has 6 settings and setting number 4 seems to be the best. Powerful enough that it blows away the leaves and twigs, not so powerful that it starts launching rocks and stones into windows. The battery lasts for about 15 to 20 minutes on setting 4 and the unit has far more power than my old gas homelight blower. I also use it to blow off snow from the solar panels. It won't work on the wet sticky stuff, but the lighter fluffy snow blows right away. Its faster and easier than using the broom. I also purchase a 3 inch pvc elbow from the hardware store and I stick it on the end of the nozzle and use it to blow out our gutters around the house. I'm happy with the purchase and the unit does exactly what I expected it to do. No more carburetor problems, no more mixing fuel, no more problems trying to get the blower to start when its 30 degrees outside.

Amazingly great yard blower
This Makita replaced a nice little 2-cycle gasoline Echo yard blower, and it's a better machine in every way. It is more powerful, doesn't require gas and oil, doesn't smell, and is very quiet. I won't know about reliability for some time, but since I still have a Makita electric drill I purchased in the 1980s I have high hopes for that as well. My yard gets a ton of redwood branches this time of year, which have needles that tend to catch on things. It used to take me 20-40 minutes to clean the yard with the Echo, and the Makita makes the job a little faster and definitely more fun. The emitted air seems to be less turbulent, so the air plume extends further and I can blow the leaves about twice as far. I normally leave the speed control on "4", which will move gravel or a thick carpet of leaves. At first I locked the trigger on full speed for 20 minutes until the batteries ran out, but then I learned that the trigger has a nice variable-speed capability. Running a gas blower less than full doesn't save a lot of gas, but lower speeds dramatically extend battery life and are more than sufficient for a thin layer of leaves. With a little technique I can easily go 40 minutes on fully-charged batteries and still have some life left at the end. Modulating the speed also makes it easier to dislodge leaves from cracks or clean off stepping stones. This is my new favorite piece of yard equipment. Highly recommended.

HEAVY BUT EFFICIENT
I previously purchased the Mikita Blower that was half the size of this and I loved it for blowing away leaves in the spring and summer however then came FALL and I just found that my backyard was way too big and I looked into getting one with more power in order to get the job done faster. I took to Mikita as I trusted the brand and loved the battery life. This blower did just what I needed to do. It cut my clean up time and motivated me to blow leaves away more often. The quality is amazing and I can tell this will last me for many years. The dual battery is also nice as I never find myself in a situation where I'm ready to clean but out of charge. Ten out of ten recommend. I would say the only downside is that it is a bit heavy so I would not recommend this to anyone with physical disabilities. Definitely don't regret my upgrade.

XBU02 Blows in the good way.
At the price of 319.95 that's the cost of four 5 ah batteries at a big box store. You basically get a dual bank charger and blower for free. I was over fighting with my handheld gas blower every other time I wanted to use it and wanted some new batteries for my other tools so I took the plunge. This blower blowes great, better than expected. Moves wet leaves and even packed down half composted pine needles with not much effort. The adjustment is great for blowing in areas where their is mulch or stone. It is power hungr ly and will go through all four batteries before the first set can recharge if you're not careful with your power and battery management. Of course this depends on the size of your property and amount of blowing you need to do. I've never been stranded with all dead batteries though and in the month that I've owned this blower I've never had the need to break out the backpack blower nor the desire to fight with the old handheld gas blower. It's also great for quickly blowing the leaves and pine needles of the trucks in the driveway and blowing out the garage without ending up smelling like 2 stoke fumes

Very good Battery powered Blower
I live in Arizona and have desert landscaping. I have a Stihl backpack blower that I use to keep my yard and patio clean. I purchased this to use for daily landscape use and to blow out the garage. I will keep the Stihl for bigger jobs but this works for most stuff and it does not have the noise, exhaust smell and fuel issues. I am generally very pleased with this blower. The air flow is very good and it handles well. The dual battery charger is very nice I can use these batteries on all of my other 18V makita tools. The performance of this really deserves a 5 star rating but it has 1 annoying issue. The air intake is on the back of the unit. In the course of using it, it tries to suck in anything that is nearby. Like your shirt or any loose fitting clothes. I find I have to make an effort to keep clear of the intake. I am surprised that no one else has mentioned this. If they could somehow pull the air from the bottom it would be much better. I also purchased the accessory flat nozzle. It is helpful in some situations.

This is a Beast
over the years I have owned corded, coreless, and gas blowers. The power of this blower beats ANY cordless by far, matches even the best corded blower, but to be truthful does fall short of the power of a gas blower. HOWEVER do not let that dismay you from spending the money to buy this incredible tool. The dual battery power is astounding and the battery life is unbelievable. I can go on and on about the tools prowess but come on, look at it, it's a leaf blower that just looks f'n cool and has the power to back it up. Oh yes, there is neighbor envy and I'm loving every minute of it. Downsides...it's heavy (for a leaf blower) but again, it's a blower, I'm not taking it on a hike. Bottom line, if you're reading reviews you've already decided you want it, you're just trying to justify the price. You work hard, buy it, you deserve a little joy in your life.
