Off-Road Driving Manual: Step-by-step instruction for all terrains

excellent
I saw this book and it essentially contains all of the articles and techniques Vince Cobley has written in Land Rover magazines, so all good stuff - well written, informative,, easy to read and follow, and with good pictures and illustrations. delivery was pretty quick and it was well packaged. The only issue I would take is the seller’s description of it as being in good used condition; it wasn’t - it was in absolutely excellent condition! It was unread, unmarked, and looked new and fresh out of the bookshop. In fact, if it wasn’t for the Bromley Library’s stickers inside, you’d never know that it was pre-owned. Terrific bargain and I’m very happy with my purchase.

Off-Road, on-target
Written by two of the 'gurus' of off-road driving, this book is not just for beginners - there's a lot of very useful and detailed information, all very well illustrated with good quality, freshly taken pictures. The book covers the essentials, and it's pleasing to note that that there is thread throughout emphasising responsible recreational driving. Like all Haynes publications, it's well-laid out and can be dipped into as well as read as a book. The writing style of Philips and Cobley is refreshing and their enthusiasm shines through. Although aimed at and principally about Land Rovers, other marques do get a mention. The book also deals with the practicalities and capabilities of more modern, electronically assisted vehicles - so not just for Defender drivers! Thoroughly recommended.

Currently reading
Having completed two days intensive off road training. I wanted something to reinforce that training and act as a reference book. This fulfils that role well.Had problems with delivery as the carrier had recorded the book as delivered when in fact they had not delivered it. When the book was eventually delivered the packaging was very dusty as though it had been sliding around the van floor.

For potential mud pluggers everywhere
Purchased as a gift, well laid out with numerous illustrations and lots of information, to get a budding mud plugger started.

A book to come back to again and again
This book is a thoroughly good read and is a great resource to come back to for a refresher or to make sound choices for vehicle off-road prepping and equipment.

Well described
A good title and on contrary of others Haynes editions not an old one. Plentifull use of colour shows it.

Great book at Great Price
This used book was exactly as described. I had been looking for the title for some time and was so glad to find a reasonable price for one. Great seller!

It is a good book covering most aspects of off-road driving and also ...
I bought this book to complement Tom Shepperd's Off-roader driving. It is a good book covering most aspects of off-road driving and also covers modern computer managed driving aids installed on modern vehicles with specific instruction on how and when to use them. It has good photographs. It is, like the other book, written for a British audience and conditions, and illustrated by Land Rovers, not specific to the Jeeps and pick-up trucks used predominantely in N America.
