Well worth the extra cost

I can't fault these strings. I know they might seem expensive but they are incredible! I used to use Martin strings but I've used these for a few years now and I find them to be perfect. They have a wonderful tone and it stays wonderful for many months! I still haven't used the strings from this order. Every time I decide to do it, I have play on the guitar and decide not to bother! They stay in tune much better than any strings I have previously used. They stop squeaking when you slide your fingers along the strings after just a few sessions of playing - much better than uncoated strings.Highly recommended.

There's a reason I've used these for well over a decade

I don't play acoustic as much as electric, so having strings that don't start that countdown timer when you first play them is a great boon for me. I've used loads of different, high quality acoustic guitar strings from several leading brands and find these to be excellent, and loooonnnnnnngggggg lasting. They don't just 'last long' but they play well for long. Also, as the coating makes the strings very slightly smoother, there's less finger noise/squeaking, which on an acoustic I really notice if going back to traditional uncoated strings.I find the coating has zero downside on tone or feel, and they 'feel' just like strings, just a little smoother.

Worth The Money

They sound twice as good and last twice as long. They’re a no brainier.

Great strings but the coating doesn’t last long

I use these on my top-end acoustics. The coating doesn’t last forever on the picking area but the strings still sound good after that.

very nice sound, for very active players will last only 2-3 weeks or less

better the buy the 3 pack as it is cheaper per packstrings are very good, kinda soft, intonation of the guitar is the best with a brand new set of stringunfortunately playing like 4 hours a day and in 2 weeks the string is getting harder, loosing its soft touch, loosing the harmonics it can create, getting discolored and frayed where you are picking it, so it can last 3 weeks and its not nice anymore, but what i found that at that point you can start you experiment with the NS tri action capo at the 4th fret and it sounds still nice on the higher registers, most players are using the strings in the first 5 frets, and after 3 weeks the strings are tired there but still lively up from there, replacing the strings every 2 weeks is pricey, that like 24 sets a year, like 340eur per year, so im trying to use the strings for 2 months

Clear as a bell

Elixir strings are familiar to me, I've used them on my dread nought for years, but I replaced D'Addarios on my Ovation as a trial with some trepidation. No need to worry, light and responsive with great tone and sustain, these Polyweb (previously used Nanoweb) are a joy to play. Elixir do seem to outlast other strings and retain that new string punch for longer so I am seriously considering making the change permanent on the Ovation despite my love of D'Addarios (which are truly great strings). It's early days yet, but if these lightweights perform as well as the medium on the dreadnought, I believe that I'll stay with them.If you are hovering whilst considering Elixir, I suggest that you seize the opportunity and give these a go.HOWEVER-fair enough, they started well but fairly rapidly showed signs of wear, the polyweb coating began to flake off the A and D strings in particular. Elixir produce good, reliable strings normally but these did not impress. I've replaced them with Nanoweb which are as good as I expected. If you're contemplating buying these I'd suggest that you buy the Nanoweb equivalent.

I don’t play better but I sound better!

I’ve been trying to improve my guitar playing for a while. No matter how hard I tried I could never get the guitar to sound quite right. I decided to try these strings, a bit more expensive and lighter than the one I tended to buy. In short, a great decision and an immediate improvement to how the guitar sounds. I is great! Why only 4 stars for longevity? Well, I don’t know yet. I tend to be a bit heavy handed with the plectrum and it hasn’t been unknown for me to break strings. Not broken one yet but a bit premature for 5 stars at this stage. Would I buy these again? Rootin’ tootin’ sure I would!

Refined Tone With Coating That Allows Me To Keep Guitar Within Arm's Reach

The media could not be loaded. Even though I know I should keep all of my acoustic guitars in their cases for their overall protection, specifically relating to temperature and humidity, I like having them out so when the urge hits to play, I can easily grab one.I've always heard good things about Elixir strings so I decided to give these 80/20's a try. Knowing that they come with a POLYWEB coating, I figured they're more conducive to the type of playing environment I keep my guitars in.They were really easy to string up and tuned to pitch after stretching and playing through a few times after they were on.The next day, I had to adjust the tuning of each string a little, but not by much. They kept their tuning overnight sitting out on my guitar stand. No complaints on the tone they bring to my guitar. Really pleased with the sound. I haven't had these on long enough to test the longevity of the coating though.Considering the sound, the POLYWEB coating, and a more than reasonable price, these Elixir strings are definitely worth a try ... especially if you're like me and have a habit of keeping your guitars within arm's reach.

Favorite Strings - by far

I have been using these strings for decades. I used a different brand when I started playing guitar and have never went back after putting on Elixirs. Perfect sound for several of my acoustic guitars, they’re durable, and well worth the price.

Unmatched Performance and Longevity

As a seasoned guitarist who demands nothing but the best from my instrument, I've tried countless brands of acoustic guitar strings over the years. However, none have impressed me as much as the Elixir Strings with Phosphor Bronze and NANOWEB Coating. From the moment I first strung my guitar with these strings, I knew I was in for something special. The tone produced by these strings is simply sublime—rich, warm, and full-bodied, with a clarity and sustain that surpasses any other strings I've used. Whether I'm strumming gentle chords or picking intricate melodies, these strings deliver an unparalleled sonic experience that never fails to captivate me and my audience. What truly sets these strings apart, though, is their remarkable longevity. Thanks to the NANOWEB Coating, these strings maintain their bright, crisp tone far longer than traditional strings, even after hours of intensive playing. Gone are the days of constantly changing strings due to loss of tone or corrosion. With Elixir Strings, I can go weeks, if not months, without needing to replace them—a testament to their exceptional durability and quality craftsmanship.Another highlight of these strings is their playability. The smooth, slick feel of the NANOWEB Coating not only enhances comfort and ease of playing but also reduces finger squeak and fret noise, allowing for a more enjoyable and immersive playing experience. Whether I'm performing on stage or recording in the studio, I can always rely on these strings to deliver flawless performance and pristine sound quality. In addition to their outstanding performance, Elixir Strings also offer excellent value for money. While they may initially cost slightly more than other brands, their longevity means fewer string changes and less time spent maintaining my guitar, ultimately saving me both time and money in the long run—a worthwhile investment for any serious guitarist. In conclusion, I cannot recommend Elixir Strings with Phosphor Bronze and NANOWEB Coating highly enough. With their unmatched performance, exceptional longevity, and superior playability, they have set a new standard for acoustic guitar strings. Whether you're a professional musician or a hobbyist, these strings will undoubtedly elevate your playing to new heights. Try them for yourself and experience the difference!
