Lightweight gel serum that locks in hydration
I ordered the Coats Hydration Intensifying Gel Serum together with Coats exfoliant cream for my mother, who has dry and sensitive skin. The creamy exfoliator incorporates naturally exfoliant ingredients for dry skin, such as Mandelic Acid, Lactic Acid and natural Mineral Perlite (it is usually used for cacti and succulent compost mix). Moreover, it also contains precious moisturising elements, such as hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and glycerin. Equally hydrating, the serum contains hyaluronic acid and glycerin but also Signal Tri-Peptide and Vitamin E, which protect the skin barrier. The serum has a gel consistency and must be applied on damp skin. Albeit for my mother, I did test both Coats products to create honest reviews. I applied the serum after exfoliating with Coats Cream face wash and spraying my face and neck with pure rose water as a toner. I allowed the rose water to absorb partially before applying the gel with my jade roller, which improves lymph microcirculation. The gel absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves no residue behind. The product has no fragrance. My skin felt soft after use; however, I am sure time makes a difference. I only applied it once, whereas any product requires a specific period until results become visible. Nonetheless, my skin felt soft and prepared for moisturiser and SPF. Furthermore, both the creamy wash and serum are meant to maintain the skin`s moisture and barrier, protecting it and ensuring its health. I hope the two will work synergistically and have an amplified moisturising and protective effect. I am delighted that it is a vegan and cruelty-free cosmetic.

Very small, runs out easily
It's good but it lasts only 12 days with average use which comes at a cost of 46p a day and the container is made from the least reusable and recyclable plastic in the known universe, which makes it seems like a huge ecological disaster when you throw it in the grey bin after such a short period.

UK-made, this delivers - across the board...
Coats Skin is a brand that's new to the skin care market. From the outset, their mission appears to be to produce high quality products that'll make skin the best it can be. This hydration intensifying gel serum is suitable for combination, normal and dry skin. I have checked out the brand and it appears that they have a presence on Tik Tok. I'm not on Tik Tok so I've not looked at their online presence there. What I can tell you is that this is a UK-made brand which has partnered with Skin Health Alliance, an independent body of skin care experts and dermatologists - so this is a brand that, despite its newness, I have some faith in. This impression is for me bolstered somewhat by having used the serum. It's packaged in a compact recycled and carbon neutral pump container which dispenses just the right amount and is very easy to use. The container also has a useful locking top so if you are travelling with this, it shouldn't leak into bags. The consistency here is indeed a gel, which is clear and easy to apply. You simply apply a thin layer morning and night onto clean, dry skin prior to moisturizer. One thing to bear in mind is that this vegan and cruelty-free serum doesn't dry very quickly - yet it did make my skin feel well hydrated. It contains hyaluronic acid, signal tri-peptide, glycerin and vitamin E - but doesn't contain nasties such as parabens, phtalates, sulfates, mineral oil, alcohol or fragrance. I feel positive about Coats' gel serum - and I love the fact that it won't block pores. Consideration seems to have been given all-round from the formulation of the product to its eco-friendly packaging. The price point appears just a little punchy and I'd have liked to have seen the box sealed. Once opened, the product needs to be used within 6 months but there's no expiry date on the packaging. If this is the start for Coats, I'd be interested to see where the brand is in a couple of years' time.

Amazing hydration serum for dry and combination skin
Amazing hydration serum for dry and combination skin, lightweight, fast-absorbing, with hyaluronic acid. It has all the ingredients to fight the signs of aging, feels great on the skin, absorbs quickly and feels nourishing and refreshing! Definitively recommend!

like alcohol on your face.
this gel serum did not convince me unfortunately, it smells way too much ethanol or even like vodka. Maybe it is how it is supposed to be. The skin I not sensitive for example and it did not make my face feel burning but I suspect it may be for people with sensitive skin. Not too sure though. At the current price, it does bite and the bottle is fairly small too. I want to see the results going forward, but I very much dislike the scent of it, it is like applying almost pure alcohol on your face.

Pills and turns white and crusty
This pills terribly! Even when used without other products. It leaves white flakes all over your face. Such a shame. I wanted to like this

I liked that this is cruelty free, but unfortunately this product just didn’t work well for me. It’s described as a gel serum but I would definitely consider it more if a gel texture. When I pumped it a big glob of gel shot out. It’s clear and stays pretty tacky after it goes on, which I didn’t love but that went away once I applied moisturized. Strangely, about twenty minutes later I then noticed it was all pilling up and crumbling off my cheeks. That has never happened to me before and I imagine this wouldn’t be great under makeup either. I may have used too much but it was one pump only.

I’ve tried a few Coats skincare products and have liked them all so far so was excited to try out this Coats Hydration Intensifying Gel Serum with Hyaluronic Acid + Signal Tri-Peptide! It says it’s good for dry to combination skin. I have dry to combination skin and definitely agree with what they say. It really does give my skin a boost of hydration that I have been missing with other products. I use a hyaluronic acid every day, twice a day, so am always looking for new ones to try out. I love that this not only has Hyaluronic Acid but also has Glycerin, Signal Tri-Peptides, Vitamin E .. plus more!! I love when a Hyaluronic Acid has some good added ingredients in it! I don’t think this feels sticky on my skin at all. My skin actually drinks it up and it really absorbs fast! I have pretty sensitive skin and have had no adverse reactions. I also am prone to breakouts and have noticed a decrease in breakouts since using! I do love that it’s fragrance free as well! I’m a fan so far and definitely recommend and would order again!!

If you're familiar with the Japanese brand Hada Labo and their iconic hyaluronic acid serum, then you'll have a pretty good idea of what this is like. It has a thick gel-like consistency that melts instantly on contact with skin. The finish is watery and a bit shiny until fully absorbed, after which my skin looks slightly matte and feels a bit sticky. As a moisturizer/hydrator combo, it works well and offers noticeable improvement in a short time. I apply it in the evening, immediately after cleansing and over lighter weight products (like essence or toner). It seals in the moisture and gives my skin a healthy glow. There's no added fragrance (of any kind) but it does have a brisk but mild scent.

This gel is meant to be used prior to moisturizing or makeup, like an anti aging skin barrier. I applied daily for 5 days after morning cleansing before face cream/sunscreen. I was very pleased with the bottle and the dispenser, since being a pump dispenser offers more controlled dispenses and it says to apply a thin layer. The product itself looks and feels like a gel, has a pleasant texture almost like aloe vera. It goes on smoothly, absorbs quickly and leaves the face feeling a little tighter and smoother. Unfortunately, I noticed that it leaves little white flakes in some areas and though I tried to fine tune my application (rub it in more, use less, etc), I could not prevent it from happening.

I used a few times and have to stop because is peeling off like a mask… I think the serum should be absorbed not peeled….I can’t recommend it…plus I didn’t see not changes when I was using it…
