USS Constitution Starter Boat Kit: Build Your Own Wooden Model Ship

Great little kit, bought as a project to build with my 11 year old.... there is enough of a kit to keep him interested(painting, cannons etc) and enough for dad...(sails, rigging ect) -Now completed its quite a nice little ornament that adorns our living room - which we both look at and feel sufficiently proud of. - It led to us buying another kit (The Victory) and with a bit of balsa, carving and imagination we created our own pirate ship that looks stunning and compliments the first...... I now want a bigger kit.... my wife says NO!

Overall I'm very pleased with this. It's the first model I've built, I've enjoyed building it and am pleased with the way it's turned out. The only negative I have is that most of the paints are surplus to requirements (I only used the black and white) and they haven't included a brown paint so I had to order some (I used wood stain and gloss which I think looks better than acrylic paint would anyway) and wait for it to arrived which delayed building it. I've also had to order more brown thread as there isn't enough included to complete the rigging. I've already ordered the Mary Rose build your own boat kit as my next project.

Not the most realistic of models but is a good starter set if u r new to modelling. Once completed it looks good on the shelf and most people r impressed with its look

A basic but well produced kit. Some model-making & ship layout knowledge would be a good thing as the instructions are perhaps a little limited.

Helping a teenager learn modelling skills.

It is nice, I got it as a present for my partner. It is a little scruffy but should look good once sanded a bit and painted.
