Having read other reviews which were all favourable I bought this product and found that this works very well. First, despite our Tefal steam iron station claim to be self cleaning (but was 3/4 blocked) I put a dose into the tank and then rested the actual steam iron in the diluted solution so that the sole plate was just covered. After several minutes of fizzing the solution had gone very milky. I changed it several times and after about 30 minutes of different soaks the steam sole plate holes were clear. The only way to get the solution through was to turn the iron on and then a whole lot more milky solution came out and immediately hardened on the hot sole plate. More soaking was needed. This went on for about a further 30 minutes. Eventually the iron was performing as it did when it was bought two years ago. Brilliant.Now I was into descaling mode and our Bosch kettle got a dose. After the fizzing had stopped (just 3 or 4 minutes) I emptied the milky water away and found the kettle still had a thick crust on the kettle bottom so put a second treatment in. Five minutes late the kettle was sparkling clean and the water level window was was also clear.By this stage I had used close on half a bottle of the descaler but the iron was working like new and the kettle is as well. Neither had been descaled for two years and we live in a hard water area (the iron instructions says not to use descaler!). Conclusion: This descaler works very quickly and is very, very effective. Just beware that there are some fumes that can irritate your nose/throat if breathed in - especially after placing the solution into the freshly boiled water of the kettle - be careful taking the lid of and inhaling the escaping fumes.

A very effective product that got rid of limescale very quickly. It must have harsh chemicals in it as it burnt a hole through my rubber gloves, and unfortunately has an unpleasant smell that lingers. Overall I would recommend this product though as it is so good at clearing limescale.

Came will very quickly. Easy to use. Was worried it may smell caustic (I have a little baby in the flat). No odour at all really. Worked wonders on the hard water limescale on our sink and taps that has been driving me nuts since moving to London. Just came clean off.. yet to try the kettle but I'm guessing it will work very well! Good price too!

The treatment was not as effective as I thought it would be, although the scale was well established and all was not cleared.

A bidet u-bend after 25 years was clogged with limescale. NOTE: a u-bend's worth of descaler will only dissolve so much limescale. Hence I found it took six goes of 150ml per night for six nights before no more fizzing and totally clear. The effect is amazing. Much simpler than removing the u-bend by disconnecting the hot and cold and waste pipe cemented through the wall!I also used it to descale an electric iron that no longer would spray water. Even diluted, the effect was explosive; it was cleared straight away. The iron being hot meant the chemical reaction was speeded up. The iron now works like new. We live in a very hard water area.I also used it in a bedroom wash basin. I didn't expect it to clear this as I suspected hair and slime blocking the u-bend. To my amazement, it cleared this system too.

Have been using Oust for some time to keep hay steamer from furring up. I put in 1 satchet of Oust, leave for 1 hour while I do horses, tip out & rinse, easy. I treated hay steamer like kettle with the Pro-Kleen and followed instructions. Didn't do as good as job, was very time consuming because of the boiling twice as I couldn't really go off and do anything else. Such a shame.

Good product - works just as described

Does what it says on the tin, in supersize. V strong stuff - works well and I now have enough to do the washing machine and loos as well as coffee machine and kettle. I should have rinsed it off the basin and bath plugholes earlier, as it discoloured them. My fault - ignored the instructions.
