Well designed, does the job well
I bought this primarily for reading in bed, and it does the job very well. It is well engineered and seems robust enough to take a heavy book. The joints in the legs have locking click stop positions that give a secure setup without risk of sagging. The joints have angle indicators so it is easy to record and reset a configuration. The instructions provide some sample configurations for different uses - these saved a lot of time figuring out the best way to set it up. For use in bed the legs are opened out to give a wide and stable base. On a desk they would be partly folded to take up less space. It is quite wide - ideal for use in bed, but check the width it will take up for other uses. It doesn't have any form of page holder apart from the ledge on which the book rests, which does have a small lip. A couple of clips would have been nice. If I was ordering it again I would have paid a little more for the black version. If you have a strong light on your book the silver stand provides a distracting reflection. Easily fixed with a sheet of black card.

light and stable
With a good width of 50cm between legs which is great for having the laptop on your lap on the sofa, as well as holding my heavy text books or laptop. The highest I have had it (and stable) is 42cm. It is light and fold quite flat, which is perfect for taking away with you, or to take out into the garden. Now that I am working from home it is great to have on the dining room table to give some hight, holding my 17 inch laptop, them move to the garden to support my books while I study.

Sturdy with a minor build quality issue
I've yet to use this properly but it appears sturdy and fit for purpose without being particularly heavy. However I wonder about the quality check as the caps on the joint C button have fallen off, easily fixed with some glue. The supplied guide for what angles to use for various scenarios is very useful, though the bed/couch suggestion puts it into a shape that doesn't match the photos as all.

Well built and versatile but not so easy to use.
As mentioned by others in previous reviews I wanted this to give me a comfortable reading position to protect my neck and back. This book holder offers the opportunity to make various adjustments in terms of height, reading angle and distance between the reader and the book itself, but for me it just didn't work easily in practice. Depending upon where I decided to sit, it required a number of adjustments of the various arms and legs to get the positions right. This was not always easy to do, as on one adjustment (the shelf angle) it's necessary to hold in two buttons, one each side at the same time. A third hand was required to move the part before the button(s) released. Tricky!! Also quite challenging for anyone with painful or limited hand use. Once appropriately set up, the book holder allows for a very comfortable reading position at a height which limits the need to bend over the book. its width, potential height and robustness make it very suitable for use at a table with either a book or a tablet. I found use on more leisurely seating more challenging.

Sturdy and flexible for needs
It's a good product, well made, strong and reasonably light. It's not as difficult to set up as is stated in reviews. Just do one joint at a time and then the opposite one. It's a simple hold a button in whilst you move a leg and it clicks in at 15 degree stops - so it's easy to visually see when you have it matched. This is the only sensible model that will straddle most people's legs. Other makes seem too narrow to be used over the legs whilst seated and need to be on a desk , watch out for similar cheaper products that are demonstrated with pictures of tiny framed Asian girls using them, if you aren't that slim/tiny then this is the one you need.

A BRILLIANT READING TOOL
This is an excellent piece of kit. It's super easy, and fast, to adjust to your requirements (I'm one of these strange people who read instructions [unlike the folk that don't, then complain that it's difficult to set up]).

Very Disappointing!
One of the covers for the joints fell off straight away. Then tried to place a book on it and it just toppled off. It has more chance of holding a discussion on quantum physics than a reasonably sized text book! Be prepared to have your hands on the book at all times, like the lady in the photo.

usage_ large format books +EXCELLENT, variable helghts and angles
This is an excellent product, easily adjustable heights and angles for large books : chose your positions depending on the sizes and thicknesses , for page by page basis add "knicker elastic" at top and bottom levels and adjust as you change the pages. This Product worth every penny and better than all the alternatives alternatively use bulldog clips Jim Cuthbertson-Retired Architect , now aged 78 and catching up on all my heavy background reading. .

Wow, thank you Uncaged Ergonomics! Post shoulder surgery, I’ve been needing something to hold my tablet, books, and puzzles at a comfortable angle, and this is amazing. It’s so much more comfortable not trying to hold on with my hands, which get tired, or prop up a book with my legs- which still cause neck tiredness from looking down. I found this easy to adjust even with an arm in a sling, and it’s just so nice to be able to get what I’m reading up to eye level and to be comfortable. I didn’t expect there to be a soft rubber sleeve included, which slides on to the lower bar where my book rests, up its so nice to also rest my wrist there as I turn pages. It’s a thoughtful feature. The whole thing is well thought out- nice and wide to go over my lap and hold any size book on its surface. I imagine it would make a nice tray for a dinner plate as well. I can’t wait to recommend it to friends and don’t know when I’ve been so happy with a purchase. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Editing to add that adjusting the side legs is not hard! You press in a button and move the legs where you want them, but you do not have to do both sides at the same time! Turn it on one end and adjust the side that’s up, then turn it on the other end and repeat. It’s also GREAT how it goes into any angle, just release the button at any point.

I love this stand. I bought it because of my neck arthritis. It's adjustable so I can use it on my coach, bed, table or recliner. The legs adjust so your book can be at eye level. It hold's heavy concordances and bibles. You can use it for small paperback novels but you have to hold the pages open, there are no clips to hold it in place. I did not want those anyway. However, with the heavy books it's hand's free reading. There's a ledge to set the book on so it does not slide and you can put your pens on it. Other models didn't have the thick ledge like this one. I've used it for 2 years now and I'm constantly banging or dropping it and it's been holding up. I love it. It's very sturdy and you can fold it and store it. Great for small apartments.
