ZOTAC ZBOX PI225 Fanless Intel N3350 Dual-Core 1.10GHz CPU 4GB Memory 32GB Storage Windows 10 Home Mini PC ZBOX-PI225-W2B

I replaced Windows with Linux Ubuntu MATE on the eMMC. Works like a charm. Also no problem booting from a USB stick. Have not tried booting from the SD slot, but USB stick should be fine for most people. I use it as a remote controller for an astrophotography setup and connect to it via VNC. Does all it needs to do and is surprisingly fast. The CPU runs very hot, though. I got worried with it being fanless, so I glued a couple of cooling fins to the bottom. That makes a lot of difference. So far all is well. As long as it does not die from heat stroke, this powerful little box will continue to serve me well.

I’ve been playing around with this for a few days now. This is definitely not friendly when you want to veer from the preinstalled Windows 10. These are my main complaints so far: * Drivers, no matter what OS, are not published on Zotac’s website. * Drivers are not stored on the included Restore DVD. The Restore DVD is an WIM image DVD. * For you to use the Restore DVD, you need to buy a compatible DVD drive. I have not had any success booting to DVD drive from my desktop by using multiple SATA to USB adapters. BIOS sees the DVD drive but is not willing to boot to the DVD drive. * The BIOS does not recognize the micro sd slot. So, installing and booting and OS from a micro sd card doesn’t work. So far, pretty disappointed.

I purchased this product and loved it's size and format. This is 5th Zotac product I have purchased through Amazon and have never had the need to use the support in the past. What a bad experience from Zotac. So what's the beef? The device started freezing when booting Windows 10. I checked the Zotac Website for support and they offered a bios patch to fix the problem. The only problem was the patch did not work. When running the patch an error was issued. I attempted to resolve the problem with Zotac support by they directed me to the Seller (Amazon). Dear Sir, There are PI225 and PI225-GK, please make sure you have downloaded the right BIOS for update. If the problem persists, please contact the ZBOX seller for repair service. Thank you. great for home media center or for crypto staking. small light and easy to hide. does get alittle warm, only passive cooling but only downside is the power cord must be a certain wattage but easy to find on amazon
