Sturdy! Great size for 49” tall 5yo.
I picked up this UTEX Kids Desk and Chair Set because apparently having 4 boys means I now actively seek out anything with storage bins and a promise of organization. #MomGoals 😅 It comes with two little fabric drawers & a place on top for all the essentials for homeschooling a 5yo. The desk and chair are wooden and sized for elementary aged kids, so it’s perfect for school, coloring, snacks, and all the other activities that somehow end up on every horizontal surface in my house. The height is perfect! My son sits at it comfortably with zero complaints, which in my house is basically a miracle. It’s more solid than the last kid’s desk we had (RIP unstable folding table), and it feels like it can handle the occasional enthusiastic slammed down marker or intense Lego building session. The storage bins are actually useful and spacious enough for books, blocks, and an alarming number of tiny action figures that appear out of nowhere. They slide in and out without turning into an Olympic event, which directly translates to fewer dramatic meltdowns from yours truly. But the fabric is a bit thinner than other bins and after 2 weeks my son ripped one of the drawers like paper. So now I’m wishing the drawers were wood instead. The build is decent for the price point nothing fancy, but sturdy enough to outlast, a week of glue projects. And it’s way cuter than most kid desks. Overall it’s mom approved, kid friendly, and a surprisingly decent value. Definitely worth considering if you want something that doesn’t scream “CHAOS!” but might actually help contain it. Haha!

Great desk and chair set — sturdy and spacious
Great desk and chair set! My kid loves it. Assembly took around one hour, but the instructions were very clear. Each step included images, and every part was labeled for fast and accurate assembly. I highly recommend this desk and chair set.

Great little desk
This little desk was perfect for my daughter’s room, she loves it. The size isn’t to small or to big (she is 5) It’s very sturdy, was easy to put together. I believe it was worth the price. Coloring wipes right off!

Kids love their desks
The kids love their desks! Seem like good quality so far. Building instructions are a bit difficult to understand but luckily my husbands good at that stuff.

Great kids desk
Very cute, great size for my 6 year old boy. I like that it's pine wood. It's a sturdy desk. The opening is also nice so that books can go in there. Overall, I'm happy with he purchase. Building it took some hours, maybe 2.5

Perfect for my 7 year old daughter
My daughter loves this little desk, we set it up in her room so she could have an art station, she spends hours in this little desk. It’s super cute, and fits easily under her window. It was pretty easy to put together and it durable. The storage slots and little drawers are a great addition.

Shipping took nearly 4 weeks.
Ordered this desk for my 5 year old clear back on Dec 17th for Xmas. This seller took so long to ship my package. It Was supposed to arrive on the 23rd & never did. Called on Xmas eve and tried to cancel the order but they said it had already shipped so they couldn't. Well according to tracking info, that was a lie. Then they said it would come on the 26th, then 27th, then 30th, 31st and the 1st of Jan. I was livid. When it still hadn't arrived by the 30th, I called amazon and demanded a refund which was also a nightmare to get but according to their policy, i was entitled to my money being refunded. So The desk FINALLY arrived today, January 2nd. Later than ever 🙄 so keep in mind this seller is not at all prompt about shipping. Now the actual desk itself.... It's ok. Definitely overpriced in my opinion. It is the perfect size for my very average sized 5 year old though. Instructions are only pictures. No words. So at times it made it challenging to figure out. The pieces are also not labeled in the pictures of the instructions so you have to be careful. The parts were not all labeled on the actual pieces either. None of my chairs parts were labeled, nor were the first 4 (A-D) parts of the desk. I recommend using a regular Philips screw driver for assembly over the little double sided Alan wrench they give you. Using that little tool slows the entire process down. I also recommend having a second person on hand while assembling, otherwise you'll end up doing what I did and have a screw Pierce through the wood outside of its intended hole and cause the wood to crack and break. See pictures. So that right there proves it's lack of durability. You will need someone else to hold the cubby pieces while you're putting the dividers in. I highly recommend screwing in the screws on the outside before you put the dividers in. Much easier. You'll also need someone to hold the top of the desk for you while you awkwardly try to fasten the legs on. I turned it on its side and that made it much easier to do alone. But still tricky nonetheless. It's also very staticy... everything sticks to it while assembling which was super annoying. Once it's all assembled it's a pretty neat little desk for a child. However, our home has all vinyl flooring which was a disaster with this desk. My son was sitting at the desk coloring and had to sneeze and the movement of the sneeze caused him to fly backwards in and off the chair. I'm thinking of removing the felt pads from the bottom of the legs or just buying a rug to put under it because it doesn't stay in one spot on our floors, it's just constantly slipping around and I don't want my son getting hurt. I added a hook on the side of the desk for my son to hang his backpack. The drawers are collapsing cloth storage drawers that do not have anything to pull on in order to open the drawers so you literally have to jam your hand in there to get them to pull out. Does have a lot of useful space but i just can't get past all the negative things about this desk. So. Overall, I'd say save your money and spend a few extra bucks and get your kid a better quality desk that is more durable, more functional, easier to understand and assemble & more safe than this one is. I'm pretty disappointed in the quality, ship time and the fact that it's a complete safety hazard on non slip resistant floors like mine. I would not recommend this desk.

Love it !!!! Built it in approx an hour alone. Was a little heavy to hold and screw at the same time, best to have a second person. Fits my four year old ! It’s perfect. Love the different compartments and drawers. Sturdy heavy desk. Nice chair. Not sure how well it will hold with crayons, markers and painting activities but will order a silicone or other type of desk mat. Recommend for pre schoolers !!!! Five stars !!!
