Simple setup, easy to use.
I bought this controller after purchasing a previous solar controller that did not work at all. Simple directions: Connect to your battery first, then your solar panel. The controller lights show the charge level of the battery, and the LCD display show the voltage and amps going into the battery.I use this controller to provide lighting in a shop building that is off grid. I have one 100 watt solar panel, and a deep cycle 12 volt car battery. When I first installed the system, the battery was at 50%. I connected five 60 watt 12volt bulbs on a switch, and I have one 100 watt bulb that stays on 24 hours. When I checked on the system a few days later, everything was functioning properly, and the battery was at 100%. This system has been installed and working properly for about a month now. We worked in the shop all day yesterday, and the battery never came off 100%. For what I'm using it for, it's been a perfect application, and performing exactly as I need it to.

Reliable
This has been maintaining my cars battery with a rooftop solar panel for almost 8 months now with no issues. Car starts right up every time even after sitting for months at a time. Bluetooth works well too, great for monitoring data.

Excellent for low wattage portable systems, but runs hot.
For the price, it’s average. For the size and portability, it’s excellent. The Bluetooth is moody: some days it gives me 50 feet, and some days it won’t cooperate past arm’s reach. For lower wattage, portable systems like the ubiquitous YouTube ammo can battery box, it’s pretty much ideal. The MPPT is very efficient, and works great with portable solar panels (I used a 30W Ecosonique folding panel). It is however, exactly what it says it is: a charge controller. It does not have output control like larger Victron or Renogy controllers, which means it is not a power distributor and you cannot charge the battery while the battery is under load (ie charging a cell phone via usb). For flaws, the Bluetooth is hard to beat at its price point but is moody. The unit does not have a heatsink or cooling fan, meaning it heats up close to or above operational temperature (110 degrees F) even in barely above freezing weather if you don’t have a good breeze or fan on it. This is rated for 10 Amps continuous, but even with a quality aluminum heatsink, thermal paste, and 60mm fan, I cannot keep it cool enough running 4.5 or more Amps through it on a breezy, 50 degrees F day.The app is actually pretty nice and easy to use. It has a few useful settings, works fine on my old Android and iPad, and tracks days of usage in an easy to read manner.

Works Great. Use with a Ham Radio with a simple modification
I'm very happy to find such a small and low priced MPPT charge controller. I wanted a small controller to use with my QRP Ham set up and this perfectly fits the bill. The only down side is that this unit is noisy. Easily fixed though. Just take a 240-43 mix toroid and wrap the power cord between the controller and the radio with as many turns as you can get on the toroid and the noise goes away. Now it works perfectly and I have not spent $140.00 on a Genasun controller to get an efficient and quiet, small charge controller. Easy and cheap fix that now does not cause any noise in my transceiver. If you are not using this controller for something like a ham radio. Maybe just to charge something like a battery or cell phone, the noise it generates should not cause you any problems as is. Most all charge controllers generate some noise unless you get one like the Genasun, which is very expensive. Ham operators, try one, you'll really like it.

Small, efficient, works well, rugged construction, easy operation
My intended usage is for portable power for ham radio off grid operations, field day, emergencies. This charge controller is highly rated on all the reviews I've seen. I've got it mated up with the JJN 100w folding solar panel. I added Anderson Powerpoles to the Bateria controller's two pigtails to mate up with my ham gear and the Powerpole adapter that comes with the solar panel. Excellent setup!

Overheating like crazy!
Stay away! This controller has many issues, the most major one is overheating. It is rated at 150 watts but at 120 watts continuous use (or less) it begins to overheat about 10 minutes of use and burns out my input fuse or it starts to lower the output current. The output current continues to drop and eventually goes down to 6-7 amps when it was outputting 10 amps, with the total power dropping below 100 watts. Do yourselves a favor and go buy a more decent and better built charge controller. In addition, the mobile app is a disaster to day the least, difficult to use, you have to go search for the Bluetooth controller every time. It doesn't save the controller last used an reconnect when you close and re-open the app. The instructions that came with the device are minimal. Finally, the controller input voltage needs to be 15 volts minimum and the input voltage must be at least 3 volts more than whatever the battery voltage is otherwise it doesn't charge. I didn't know this when I was buying this, then I found it in some fine print in the manual but it wasn't even clearly explained. To make matters worse, MPPT technology is supposed to boost the voltage of the solar to charge the battery if needed, for example when the input voltage is lower than the battery voltage. This controller does not do this so beware. Terrible product overall, it's getting returned once I find a better product. Wasted so much time with this when I could have spent a little more and got something that works.
