Everyone saying this is easy to cut but i tried with an old piece today and it wasn's - so question is what exactly should I use to cut this?

Use a stanly blade or bread knife

Hi, it depends on what enclosure you are using it with. there are a couple of cut outs (you can just see them on the bottom of this pic) which can go at the top or bottom (depending which way up you put it) to give air flow. if this is not enough, the you can make the bigger, or cut extra ones in. it is quite easy to cut this particular background. hi, im thick when comes to measurements . how many would i need for the back of a 4ft x 3ft viv ?

The size you are looking for is either 120cm high by 90cm long or 90cm high by 120cm long. It depends which way your viv is designed. Is it 3ft tall or 4ft tall? I bought this size for a 3ft long viv. If you bought two of this size (90 x 45) it would only cover 90cm tall by 90cm long

Hi can you still attach plants, hammocks etc over it with staples? Or would it not hold due to the material

It is polystyrene so staples would definitely pull out with any weight on it.
