Velda 127590 Pond Overgrowing Mat with Plant Pockets 110 x 105 cm

I ve had an established pond for 18 years but the shelves are not very wide which means the normal planting baskets often fall into the pond once plants start growing big so this Velda overgrowing mat seemed like a great idea to try and counter that. I bought the 110 x105 and it is large with plenty of pockets for planting at different depths. I found it to be very heavy to carry once it was filled with pond soil and plants so in the end I cut it into smaller sections for me to manage and it works a treat. If you are building a pond from scratch then these would be great as you would be able to get into the pond and position exactly where you want. Its a shame that Velda don't do a smaller version for people who have really small ponds I ve since discovered that Velda do a pond sock so I am going to try one of those too.

This product was easy to install in my pond with plants in all 3 levels of pouches. It also allows for zone 2 plants on the upper shelf. My newts love the plants which are growing really well.

Way bigger than I thought but was able to make then smaller, all I need now is for the plants in them to do something cheers
