Fluid FilmLIQUID A - 1 Gallon Can

Last year I was looking for a product to prevent rust from forming on my tools and I ran across this. After a year of use I must say that I’m very pleased at how well fluid film has worked for me. The tools and equipment, especially the bench vises in my unheated/uninsulated barn, that I’ve used this on easily goes months without rusting in my shop with only one application. The only drawback I’ve noticed is the coating it produces tends to collect dust, but as a rust preventative it has performed very well for me.

This stuff is amazing.Just an FYI though, this particular version is called "Liquid A" which according to the website indicates it is a thinned out version for marine applications and is not recommended for automobile undercoating.The 4 variations of Fluid Film:Liquid A - thinner, marine formula for interior applications,(rudder interiors, voids, etc.) Not recommended for vehicle undercoating.Fluid Film AR - very thick semi-gel for heavy marine applications. Used on slightly rusting galvanized trailer in Hawaii. Need to prep surfaces as instructed to work well. Will not last forever though.

I have used this for a variety of projects with positive results in every application. This has a higher viscosity than WD-40, so it is not a substitute for it but rather something to be used when a heavily lubricate is needed like hinges. In addition it is absorbed by the metal. I used it to season the outside of my cast iron pots and when I removed the pot from the oven the fluid film was absorbed. The outside of the post remained seasoned a year later. I also used it as a rust preventive on my tools and tractor parts still working great.
