Only The Best
I have purchased many Netgear products over the years, ranging from 5 port unmanaged switches to 28 port managed switches. Netgear makes excellent networking equipment. My latest purchase is for the GS110tp managed to switch to use in my lab to understand various configurations including VLANS. I do wish that Netgear would supply a template with the wall-mounted switches to make mounting much easier.

Netgear switches are a great value
Netgear Prosafe switches are the best deal going. They are packed with features, manageability, and durability.MSP’s have repeatedly told me that Netgear switches are not ‘business grade’, but they are WRONG. The ‘business grade’ switches they recommend really just cost is just a lot more and sometimes require support agreements.I have used several of these Netgear switches on POE camera networks, VLAN networks, etc in large industrial environments and they have held up just as long as switches costing 3 times more. The management interface is great as well. I highly recommend Netgear Prosafe switches.

POE+ & 2 SFP
I have a number of POE IP cameras around my property and was having my previous switches fail when lightning storms were in the area, even if there was no really close hits. I switched to fiber optic to run between the buildings and now none of my switches have died. This Netgear switch gives me two SFP ports so I can link through to additional switches, and with the POE+ power, I can run many POE cameras as well as the occasional POE+ camera. If you need to run more that 2 POE+ devices, you might need a different switch because this device only supplies 55 watts total power. This is the 3rd GS110TP I bought, and I also have a few GE305EP where I did not have a fiber run and I am very happy with the reliability of my Netgear products. I love the web interface and the available options for managing the switch; it makes it super easy for me to get the information I need or power cycle remote POE IP cameras. Before I switched to fiber, Netgear was very helpful providing support on my devices that dies during storms and I expect that if I do end up having any issues, their support will probably be excellent. I highly recommend Netgear and the GS110TP switch.

multi-gig copper ports, silly high PoE budget, simple setup
This is a home setup and everything is locally managed, I cannot speak to the Insight management service.Upgraded to a UPro7 AP and added this switch to the setup to take advantage of the 2.5Gb uplink, in addition to a handful of clients with 2.5/5/10Gb connection options. The Netgear switch carries a few VLANs and sits between a pfsense+ router (home built) and a Cisco SG250. Everything talks to each other fine (obviously some differences in web GUI and terms but it's all doable) and I'm getting all the speed I'm promised. PoE budget of 295W seems crazy to me and the only overkill part, but I'm not market research so I'm sure it's of use to others.Cisco users: PVID is of course key but there's no "access" or "trunk" in the Netgear world, you simply select what VLANS to Tag, Untag or remove on a port and it's implied it's a "trunk."This is in Switching mode.

Small business-buyer beware !!!
On the surface this network switch appears to be a good value. Netgear includes the following in their product description: Limited Lifetime Hardware Warranty, Next Business Day Replacement, and 24/7 chat with a NETGEAR expert. Well, it's all technically true but you may not like what happens when you experience equipment failure as I did.My switch has a 5 year hardware warranty, and it just failed last week (about 3.75 years old). When I purchased these Netgear switches I immediately registered them, so I already had an account with support portal access. When I logged in to my Netgear account to report the switch failure I was greeted with the attached image. Amazing. I had a whole 3 months of phone support, chat support, and e-mail support (which ended 3 months after I bought the switches). Nice. So my only option was to report the issue via the support portal. This is where the frustration really begins.A significant factor in my decision to purchase these Netgear switches was the Netgear Next Business Day Replacement promise. Once again, it's technically true. But the Next Day Replacement doesn't start until "someone" at Netgear feels satisfied that your equipment failed in a manner covered by warranty. And I'm guessing this "someone" must be stationed on the dark side of the moon, because round-trip communication takes 1 to 2 days ... for each question. Did you reset the switch (2 days), can you send us a video (2 days) ... you get the idea. For the record, I've spent my entire career in IT (supporting very large networks). I rebooted and reset the switch 10 times before I reported the issue to Netgear.I'm still waiting for acknowledgement that the replacement is on its way. Oh, and get this. The warranty states that if they cannot send you back something equivalent then they can simply refund your original purchase amount. NO!!! That is NOT a Next Business Day Replacement!!I don't know who at Netgear decided that treating small businesses like unwanted step-children was an acceptable strategy. Clearly they have un-bundled every possible penny from the purchase price of these switches. I'm OK with that, but please tell me up front what the equipment failure experience will be like ... and note in your description that the Next Business Day Replacement does not mean the day after you report the failure. It makes me wonder if they treat their corporate customers any differently. Well, buyer beware!
