Wonderful egg boiler, but choose seller carefully , not all come with the adapter needed.
After reading the positive reviews for this item and seeing that everyone got a UK adapter in the box, I decided to order. It took a long time to arrive as the seller has only used part of my address on the box. Not a good start. Then I opened the box: no adapter. I emailed the seller whose response was to send me a link to purchase an adapter. The chances of me wanting to wait again for a badly addressed box with a part that legally should have been supplied are nil. I ordered an adapter from another Amazon seller and finally got the chance to try out the egg boiler today. It cooks eggs beautifully ! I set it to cook 2 eggs on medium, as I hate runny whites but love runny yolks. They were perfect. The buzzer is loud so you really can not miss the fact the cooking time has finished. Easy to set up, a doddle to use and takes seconds to clean. My advice is to purchase this but look very carefully at the seller offering it. Some on the current list do mention that they send with an adapter. If in doubt, ask or be prepared to purchase an adapter. It is illegal in the UK to supply without a UK plug or an adapter that can not be opened without tools. I am happy to use a proper adapter, whether it can be opened with or without tools, but some sellers are flouting the law. Be aware.

Like many others I have had one of these egg ...
Like many others I have had one of these egg boilers for over 20 years and it has worked wonderfully. The buzzer failed after about 10 years. I could not find another like it anywhere. I have tried others but they all died quite quickly so I have been using the original Krups one, without a buzzer, every day ever since. It is so nice to have a new one, with a buzzer. It shows up the old one has having got a bit tiered, but after 20 years of almost daily use that is a compliment to quality. The conundrum is whether to buy another in case it goes out of production again or hope that there might be a new model in another 20 years. .

Great Simple Egg Cooker
We have now been using the egg cooker for over a month and for the most part every egg cook has been successful at medium or hard boiled.Couple of recommendations always put the eggs into the tray with the wide bit at the top as it comes out of the egg pack. Pearce the top.The only issue it that it would have been helpful if they had included a LED light when the cooker is on.

Well worth the money
Well worth the money the one I bought in Boots, April 1992 for £13.99, has in May 2021 just failed (switch mechanism). So after 29 years and being used a couple of times a week making perfect eggs it was a no brainer to get a replacement. The fact that they are manufacturing and selling the same model speaks for itself, in other words ‘if it aint broke don’t fix it’. I wish there were more manufacturers like this.

Nice little egg cooker for the small household
Great for a small amount of eggs, even when it's just one you want, from a reputable manufacturer of kitchen machines. I had an older model of this type and brand, which has just surrendered to scale after many years of faithful service. After reading the other reviews I wasn't sure if it would come with a British plug, but I am happy to report that it did.

Totally unreliable, better boil eggs traditionally in a pot
Deutsche Technologie at its (Chinese?) worst. Purports to boil up to 3 eggs in minimal water with a "water timer" (i.e. the boiling time depends on the measured water quantity for soft, medium or hard). Problem is that as soon as the water simmers the cover starts to vibrate and eventually splutter out a sizable part of the boiling water. Because the "job done" alarm is triggered by the total evaporation of the water, the boiling time is shortened by the spillage so the hard eggs will be softish and so on. Having used eggs at room temperature (advised) the result is the same, and if the hole mandatorily pierced in each egg shell begins to give out the white, the boiling water will become messier with the egg foam, making things even worse. A joke of an appliance, can't understand how Krups keep deceiving customers with it.

Fabulous kitchen essential
This Ovomat was bought to replace the same model received 20 years ago, as a wedding present. I reckoned that 20 year's regular use was a good enough track record to want to buy another of the same type to replace it,as it finally breathed its last.An excellent piece of German engineering once more.Delivered as promised, well packaged.

Careful with your eggs!
Replaced an old one from another brand which was showing its age.Only used twice and both times one egg leaked. Then the water goes everywhere.Hope its a problem with extra large eggs I buy. Trick is probably to make sure the eggs are right way up (air pocket at the top) but sometimes hard to tell.Cooking seems even enough.Alarm is good. I can hear it right through my house!
