A Great Value for a Vagus Nerve Device
Anyone shopping for a Vagus Nerve stimulation device should seriously consider looking into the Pulsetto. In searching other comparable devices, the Pulsetto offers the best value in my opinion. To be fair, I did not try any of the other devices, so I do not know their therapeutic benefits compared to the Pulsetto. All the devices I researched stimulated the Vagus Nerve using electrodes directly placed on the neck. There are several other devices that use electrodes connected to the ear that I did not look into. The following describes my reasoning for purchasing the Pulsetto device over the others. The three other devices I researched to compare were all "taser like" devices that have to be actively held up to the Vagus Nerve for the entire programed session. These type of devices will only stimulate one side at a time, compared to the Pulsetto which rests around your neck allowing the 2 sided electrode design to stimulate both the right and left side of the Vagus Nerve simultaneously during the timed sessions. This passive use of the Pulsetto might help you to relax and enter a meditative state much easier if that is your goal. As far as the price compared to the other devices, you pay a one time fee for the Pulsetto and it can be used unlimited with the free app which offers 5 different types of sessions (Stress, Anxiety, Sleep, Burnout, Pain) . A premium monthly subscription can be purchased separately which offers additional sessions, but this is not a requirement. One of the compared devices I found can only be purchased with a medical prescription requiring a doctor's evaluation and a need for refills on the prescription to continue use. I am not sure how much the prescription device costs. The next device was double the price of the Pulsetto and comes with a limit of 350 sessions. This means that once the 350 sessions were used, the device will no longer work and a new device has to be purchased at full price again if you want to continue. The third device was about the same price as the Pulsetto, however, it contained two replaceable gel electrodes that the company recommends changing every month at a purchasing price of $60. So you buy the device and then have to spend $60 a month for continued use. After this research, I arrived at the conclusion that the Pulsetto seemed like a very reasonable deal in the Vagus Nerve stimulation device market. As far as the results of use, it has helped me relax once I am finished with everything in my day. I sit on the couch and do only one session a night. For me, starting slowly on the lowest intensity setting works best. The first night I used it twice on a higher intensity setting and I believe that may have been overstimulating. The customer service is very friendly and responded quickly to my inquiries about the device. With all this said, I have only been using it for 1 week with great results, so I can not comment on it's long term reliability. As long as this device continues to function as intended, I will be very happy with the purchase.

Pulsetto device doesn't establish Bluetooth connection with Pulsetto smartphone app, so useless.
Like so many other previous reviewers of this device, I had high hopes for it, despite the very mixed reviews. Unfortunately, I could not even test the device's ability to provide the relief its developers promise because it would not establish a Bluetooth connection with the Pulsetto app on my smartphone -- a connection necessary to make the device function. Based on previous reviews that reported the same problem, this appears to be a flaw in the device and/or its smartphone app -- both the Android version that I tried and the Apple/IOS version that other reviewers tried. When I contacted Pulsetto tech support, all they did was give me the instructions I'd already followed exactly. After that, they had no suggestions. Pulsetto should remove this device from the market and Amazon should stop selling it until it can be made to function reliably. If prospective buyers have any question about whether or not to buy this device, I suggest that you not only read the Amazon customer reviews, but also the reviews of the required Pulsetto Lite app on the Google Play Store site and the Apple App Store site. Those reviews make it clear that both the device and the app are deeply flawed and would be a waste of buyers' money and time.

Works great when it stays connected to app
Brought for son who has a Gammacore device for headaches. Tried Pulsetto and loved that you can easily apply gel and put it on instead hold it to side of the neck. When the app is working, I like that it stimulates both side of the neck with a calming sound and visual timer. Cons: app sometimes will stop or lose connection with device, power button gets stuck and can't use it without the app. To compare to the Gammacore device, Pulsetto has a more relaxing vibration, one time purchase fee and uses less gel. Gammacore has a shorter duration for pain relief (6 minutes), expensive refill every 90 days, and longer battery. Maybe in the future, it could have simple features that work on the go without connecting to the app.
