Really like this product! Had a cheap smaller glass one that kept falling over, was never accurate and broke under the first freeze. This one is opposite; it's bigger, taller and more accurate. Great buy so far for my raised beds!

I love this rain gauge it magnifies the numbers when it gets rained in it's easy to see easy to read easy to clean I would buy it again and I do recommend it

I bought this thinking it could be left out year round. It claims to not freeze, however it did and the bottom cracked. If you’re in a climate that doesn’t freeze, it’s good. It is not freeze-proof, however as they claimed.

It says freeze proof but it is not. My tube cracked with water in it. But other than that I love it.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I like the blue stripe up the back of this rain gauge. It makes the water show up dramatically as rain fills it. However, the color of the stripe combined with the black numbers make the numbers a little difficult to see at any distance. A lighter shade of blue or even a shade of yellow would let the numbers stand out a little better. Also, when the wind blows, the tube gets jostled and manages to turn so that the numbers and the colored stripe point in the wrong direction. I solved this with a thin rubber band around the whole thing. A slightly lighter color for the rear stripe would have gotten this rain gauge 5 stars.

Works well. Large numbers and it did not break through freezing temps in the winter, even with rain water in it.

Works as advertised

All in all it's a nice rain gauge, I enjoyed having it for the ~ year it lasted. The build quality feels good, it installs about as easy as it gets with just having to poke the holder into the ground, and the blue coloring is easy to read from a short distance away ~ less than about 6 or 7 feet. So all in all I'd say it's a great rain gauge. However it is not freeze proof as described. Mine cracked after one winter which was very disappointing. If it didn't crack I would have given 5 stars. If a replacement were to be sent I'd also be willing to change to 5 stars. If you can keep the rain gauge emptied out in the winter it should do just fine.
