I purchased this gadget for experimentation, and it works perfectly while offering great value.

Picks where good for the price I paid. Bought it because of lost key and door wasn't locked. It's not easy to do and patience is needed. The practice locks are easy but that's all they are. Saved a bit money on a locksmith coming out.

The main barrel of the padlock was plastic, coated to look like brass, and so would twist and mangle when using the tension wrench. The tension wrenches bent and twisted easily making them useless. Most importantly all the pins had come out of one of the locks, so returning as it’s faulty. Load of rubbish, terrible materials, waste of money. One star is too many.

These are good for a bit of a fun way to understand the principles of the lock mechanisms. Locks and pin gaps are large enough to make the picking easy enough to achieve for most.Have also bought as a gift, for the novelty factor.

Guess you gets what you pay for. As a practice kit it’s ok. Played around with it a few times and felt I was getting a feel for the old petty larceny lol. Sadly the first time I “used it in anger” on a real lock, the puck snapped off leaving the end in the lock. Fortunately I was able to dismantle the lock and remove the piece, but it’s left me without confidence in the rest of the kit.As a practice toy, it’s great, and gives you the feel of lock picking. As a proper tool, it’s lacking the resilience needed. Oh, and before you think I used brute strength on it, I really didn’t, I was literally just feeling my way through the lock when it snapped.
