Excellent, but beware the hum! (Easy fix!)
Overall and in general, these are absolutely fantastic monitors. However, the system I bought them for has a terrible hum issue with them, likely due to my Nvidia GPU. Some programs and especially games were absolutely unbearable and had to be used with all of the audio turned off. That hum was easily handled by adding a cheap Pyle hum eliminator, which is only $20 here on Amazon at the time of this writing. My final setup meant running the interface to the hum eliminator, then to the sub, then to the monitors. Your system may be different. I think the price was a little high, but obviously not enough to stop me. In the end, it's still worth it. These really do sound amazing for every purpose from casual listening to final mixing, but keep in mind that they are not meant to be used as a whole-area set of speakers. They sound best from very specific distances and angles, but that also doesn't stop me for blasting them for a single, large room. They don't take up too much space, but they are also not small. For desktops, you'll want at least 4 feet across for an average video monitor and these to sit together. While these are great speakers that perform exactly as intended, keep in mind that they do have proper and improper ways to be set up, and your results can vary greatly depending on your setup and expectations. The sound is clear and clean. If you've never listened to your favorite songs through a professional monitor or headphones before, you'll often be blown away at the music's hidden sounds you never heard before, even after decades. These are no different and will absolutely change how you hear things.

Happy
Ordered two of these to use as rear channels in a multi (15) channel setup for my virtual pipe organ. They're about 20' from the organ console and used for the reverb or ambience channels, so I'm not listening to them as critically as one might if they were being used in a typical near-field installation. Nevertheless, they sound fine and serve the intended purpose. When I'm not playing the organ, I often stream Sirius XM through the organ's audio, and they also sound fine there as well. One issue, not directly related to the speakers is that one of the speakers was used. The package was not factory sealed, the documentation was missing (no big deal) and the rubber feet had been affixed. This was clearly Amazon's fault, as they tried to obscure the original purchaser's shipping label with two big black "Amazon" labels. Since I paid for a new unit, I expected a factory sealed unit, not a potentially defective return. To their credit though, Amazon sent me a new speaker and a prepaid shipping label to return the used one. A bit of an inconvenience, but I'm not going to get all bent up over it. Also, unlike someone else's review, the speakers came packaged in an outer box. There was no padding between the inner and outer boxes, but I suppose it adds a little bit of protection, nonetheless. I think the Styrofoam packaging in the inner box is sufficient to protect against most types of shipping damage, although I really hate that they use Styrofoam. All in all, I think these are a good value for the money.

Wow! Impressive Studio Monitors!
This review is coming from a novice (who upgraded from a pair of Mackie CR4) so I’m only speaking from my own personal experience (albeit somewhat limited). I wanted to upgrade my sound setup since I started to get more into music production and wanted good monitors to use with my equipment. My old CR4 started to have some issues so I wanted to replace them with a little bit of an upgrade. I had initially thought of getting the same size, but after a little research, I ended up with the Eris 5. The quality of the speakers itself I feel is top notch in terms of build quality. What’s even better was the sound. I can immediately tell the upgrade and difference from my old setup when listening to some recordings, but what I love about these (in comparison to my old setup) was hearing more of the low end. I’m sure the jump in size I went from played a factor. I used to have a subwoofer in my old setup for bass, but with these, I don’t feel I need them anymore. They give me enough bass/lows without overpowering the rest of the sound.

These sound great.
The is my first use of reference monitors with my Studio One set up. Installation is easy. I haven't really had a chance to work with them in depth but I am excited to get to it. One critique that caught me off guard but can be worked around. If you plan to use these on a book shelf be aware that the power plug sticks straight out of the back side and I recommend 90 degree input TRS cables. A shelf is not the ideal environment for proper set up I concede. ( in my case they are on a top shelf of my desk which only sticks up about a inch or so but the power plug is in they way. The desk itself is at least a foot forward of the wall behind it.) I have ordered some isolation pads for underneath which will solve the issue but just wanted to let others know. A 90 degree connection for the power cord would be a good change not to be picky. I have also purchased a Atom, a Faderport and previously owned a Audiobox 44vsl just replaced with the new Quantum ES4 interface. I have used Studio One Artist DAW since version 2 (not that I am any good at it but it's a hobby for me.) What I want to mention is the EASE OF INTEGRATION with Presonus devices. Everything I have has been mostly plug and play. My issues have usually always been with the dummy holding the plug if you know what I mean. ;-) Great sound and I look forward to getting the most out of them.
