Really well done
If you've tinkered with Excel macros and dabbled in VBA and want to do more, this is a great book for you.The book progresses from the basics of VBA up to more advanced programming techniques and goes on to give good primers on XML and ASP. Lots of code samples and screen shots illustrate the information being discussed in the text. The author clearly knows the subject and how to impart that knowledge in an easy to follow manner that rookies and pro's will appreciate.I had to dock the book one star because the Kindle format, in the Kindle PC reader just doesn't work well for a book like this. Zoom control doesn't work so keeping the text smaller for browsing thru and then zooming into particular text is a no-go. Cutting and pasting the code samples out of the book is a mess. When you cut and paste, spacing changes are performed on the code requiring you to reedit it and they stick a copyright message on every paste. I was able to convert the book to PDF format to get around this, otherwise I would have docked it more stars.

Excellent and comprehensive examples, but poor teaching strategy.
The book has excellent and comprehensive examples. However. it falls shorts in explaining how the different modules link together to produce a working project. Including comments in each source code, sufficient to explain the source code would have been a much better teaching strategy. I should not have to be constantly going back and forth between the textbook and the source codes.

Easy to follow
I am learning this book at my own pace - that is, whenever I have some time after work and everything else, so far I can follow the detailed instruction to achieve the lesson objectives easily in the first few chapters.

Excellent for the student of VBA, but needs a better index.
This is the third edition of Julitta Korol's book that I have purchased, and it has contained more information on each occasion. If you have the time and the perseverance to work through the thousand plus pages, then you will have a good understanding of Excel VBA. For as well as clear explanations of all subjects it gives excellent examples. However, it lacks a comprehensive index. One could hardly expect every VBA keyword to be indexed, but more topics might have been included. For example I sought information on the MS Office Clipboard but the topic is not indexed. The book comes with a CD that covers all the exercises in the book, and that might have proved a good medium on which to include a larger index. Despite that one reservation, I consider this to be an excellent work, ideally suited to the beginner and to the more advanced learner.
