First time!
The box is much, much smaller than I thought. But it is about 2-3 inches. I opened it to see what it was all about. Pretty cool. I did, however, randomly find two circular magnets on the table. I figured it was from the kit. Probably should make those more secure. Seems like they would be important. Pretty excited tho. This is my first 3D metal puzzle. Other reviews say it’s difficult but then again a great puzzle for beginners. Either way, I’ll find out. I have the necessary tools and can’t wait to get started. I purchased this in August 2024 and all of the instructions are in English. From the earlier reviews, they said the instructions are in Chinese. I guess they heard and fixed this. It has two papers. One is for instructions and the other is parts identification. This is great because you can place a piece with the picture. I really like that. Makes it easier if the instructions were to confused me. So far, everything looks top notch except the magnets should be more secure. Now, I’ll build. It’s amazing that such an intricate piece only has two small sheets of pieces. Make sure you read the little notes before beginning. Like the position of your clippers and pliers. How to fold the parts. This will help prevent breakage. And probably the most important is which side is up. If it should be the decorative side or the underside. A magnifying glass is a plus for the hard to see slots. The bending of the metal is intricate but easy if you take your time. Overall, it was fun (being my first time) completing a 3D metal puzzle. The only downside was some paint would chip off from using the pliers. Other than that it’s very ornate and pretty.

It looks really cool when assembled.
I like doing puzzles but this one was frustrating to put the tiny beads into the holders. Did it really bother me, no, but it was tedious. I still really enjoyed putting together. This puzzle looks really cool when assembled, even better then the picture but it wise to get some flush cut snips to remove from tray.

Challenging
Ok…first for the downside. There are NO INSTRUCTIONS in English. If you read Chinese, you will have an advantage. If you enjoy puzzles, this is for you! If you have put together any Ugears models, you should be ok. Pictures….and it doesn’t matter what the language. You will need a set of MICRO pliers and a small side flush cutter. Also, I would suggest an orange wood stick, blunt on one side and tapered on the other. You would have to modify it yourself, a 2” diameter circle of wood about a quarter inch thick and a miniature diamond file to file off any sharp edges after you clip it out of the sheet.. I would also have some gel super glue. And one BIG thing, a must have….a lighted magnifier. Had I not worked micro miniature repair when I was in service, this would have been a nightmare. DO NOT ATTEMPT IF YOU DO NOT HAVE PATIENCE!!! Once the deciphering of the diagrams are done, no real issues. These parts are SMALL!! I worked in my easy chair in a lipped small tray. On the “instructions”, the blue circles mean you lay the tabs over, and the triangle you twist the tab. I enforced with the superglue. One thing I will say, after you bend and manipulate, you may have to manipulate more. I used orange wood stick to help change the shape if you need to. The wood will not mar your metal. You can use the wood circle to move larger areas without damage, rolling it. The last step of putting the magnet in the decorative shell, flatten up one bottom and place your magnet in, roll the side putting in the tabs, then drop the lid and fold the tabs. The magnets are very strong and work well. Overall, I really enjoyed putting this together. Oh, one more thing. The antenna are very fragile. As I was putting on the finishing touches, one of the antennas broke off, so I cut the other to match. Personally, I think I like it better. I enclosed two pixs…the topside and the underneath.

Def NOT a beginner level craft.....
I thought i stood some chance of completing this one as its "beginner" level. It's in my trash though. Parts are teeny tiny and I could not figure it out. If you have any challenges with eyesight, dexterity or understanding instructions from diagram only, this isn't for you, regardless of level.....

Worth it
Loved building it took about 3-4 hours. No tabs broke on me but I did use tweezers instead of pliers so that mghtve affected it.

This sucked
The pieces are so flimsy and so tiny that it's like impossible to put together. It's cute and I even used needle nose pliers and one piece also broke in half. I wouldn't suggest this as a buy

Don’t waste your money on this flimsy kit.
Don’t It waste your money! Very flimsy. These “metal” pieces are paper thin. This might have been cute if it had not broken upon bending just a little bit to build the magnet cage. On other pieces the chrome plating flaked off anytime you would bend a tab. I was unable to finish this kit and basically wasted money I could have spent elsewhere.

Bought this for Xmas for my 20 year old daughter to take back on to university on the plane. She was so interested in it, she built it while still at home and she loved it. It does require a good fine set of side cutters to get the pieces out of the parts frames (they are cut out from small rectangular pieces of flat stock and have small segments uncut to hold them in the flat stock), and then small needle nose pliers to assemble, but otherwise are pretty cool.

These were very challenging to put together, but well worth the effort. I love these little guys. Takes about one hour per bug to assemble.

I've made 2 of these before, the rhinoceros beetle and the red ladybird, both took me about an hour each and they look great. The bee however, I've been struggling with for hours. One of the antenna broke while trying to attach them to the head, and attaching the piece with the wings feels impossible because of the small middle piece attached blocking it from fitting I'm hoping I can get it finished since I'm only a few steps from the end, but it's become so frustrating I've had to put it aside for now, this one should have been marked as a level 2 compared to the other gemsects in the collection

The Ladybird came out really nice. This was my first build before I tried the bigger models, and was very happy with the result. I recommend you put the magnet at the butt instead of the head, as the magnets are very strong, and you will need the extra space for your fingers to get a hold of. When putting the filigree coating on the other magnet, be sure to half build it before putting the magnet in like the instructions said. I was a fool and tried to assemble the enclosure around the magnet, but the magnet is so strong my tools just kept snapping to it. If your going to actually wear it, I recommend a small dab of superglue to reinforce the 2 front feelers and the little filigree tail at the back, as they can catch on fabric and bend very easily. If you wanna get super fancy you can hide the more visible tabs by folding in the receiving tabs and locking them internally. This worked really well for me on the 4 wings, and the head pieces. I did it for the black back as well, but shouldn't have bothered, as they end up hidden by the filigree, so I spent time being fiddly for no reason. You CAN do it for the legs, but it will be a real pain to sort of rotate them in a way to get the tabs in. IF you do try, and you really don't have to, they're very small. Then I recommend that in addition to bending in the receiving tabs, pre-bend the legs themselves LENGTH WAYS, as in rounding them as if they had meat in them. It gives more room for the tab to go in, and I think makes the legs look better. Luckily you have a couple attempts, as they give you extra pieces for SOME of the legs, the smallest and most fiddly pieces! It was a great afternoon.
