A Must Have Book for Boogie Woogie.
I've been playing the piano since I retired for about 5 years now, self taught. I got to a point where I wanted to try something a bit different. I am a fan of Jools Holland who is a great boogie woogie pianist, so thought I would try it. I used YouTube for a few lessons but found I needed some sheet music to go with it as the fingering was far to quick for me to see. I came across this book on Amazon and thought I would try it. I am not disappointed. It starts off very basic with Ch3 dealing with the harmonic structure of the boogie woogie, then goes on to riffs for the left hand in various keys in Ch4. Ch5 deals with right hand rhythmic chordal patterns with Ch6 moving on to really putting the left hand and right hand together. Not easy, takes loads of practice and is where I am up to at the moment. There are 14 chapters in 72 pages and lots of down load tracks to go with each stage. It is a must have book if you want to learn to play in this style of music. However, you must be able to read music for it to work for you.

A lot of great information and licks.
There really is quite a lot of information in there and licks you can use , i don't know why i didn't get these books sooner. There is some great material in all these series of books. I particularly like the tunes that are put together. Learning them alone is worth the price in my opinion , if after time you can manage it with a lot of practice.

Not as good as I expected
Not as good as I expected.Thin, not a lot of learning.Plus the few included complete pieces are average by all means to my taste.
