Very easy, quick, and good value. 4 stars only because a couple of the swab heads quickly fell apart. Would buy again. Make sure you have good lighting so you can see the color variability.

To be completely honest I'm not sure if they work or not we tried them on multiple metal cups we had gotten at an antique store to test and see if they had lead and the test came out negative so I'm not sure for now they are decorative glasses only not going to take the chance

Arrived defective. All tips were mustard yellow before even wetting. Still, I gave them a shot and tested on some lead solder—it failed to detect the lead and showed a negative. I’ll update the review if the replacement I receive works better. EDIT: replacement arrived! …expired. Failed to detect known lead. I gave them multiple chances; don’t waste your time and money doing the same. Order elsewhere.

I bought the 20 piece kit to test for some unmarked glassware and some old dishes I was thinking about using. I found the test really easy to use and there wasn't any doubt that there was no lead problem.
