A slightly different slant in this series because the food and recipes were of secondary importance to the people, history and culture of the places visited. As always, Rick Stein is an easy going affable host, and is genuinely interested in everyone he meets. An eclectic mix of life and food in such diverse areas as The Deep South with the blues background, and the link between food and opera, with special references to Verdi, Rossini and Puccini in Italy. As with all such good quality television I was left wanting more.

Love Rick Stein’s cookery programmes and journeys. Have watched them all on Tv but wanted a copy to review and enjoy when the weather is wet and cold. Great DVD. It brings back many happy memories of journeys we have made or dreamed of.

Very enjoyable, it not only shows you how, but why dishes are done in the respective area. You also get a pitted history, of the location.

I've watched all of Rick Stein's programs. He has such a unique style and presentation. He makes me actually want to go in the kitchen and cook and that's saying something!

Great dvd of his one off specials. He's a great chef and presenter.

This is quite simply a wonderful collection of themes; a Cornish Christmas to the delta blues, taking in Italian opera on the way. Delicious food, great music, beautiful scenery all delivered with Rick's laid back manor, what's not to like.
